A low-fi audiozine that puts the punk back in cypherpunk.
I was on this radio show last weekend which had a theme of Summer, media, money, and a side helping of David Lynch. I got strong @7fqx vibes from the show.
Bringing some cassettes with me to BTC Prague. Thanks to Phoenix wallet I'm trying a Bolt12 qr code! Which is pretty cool because I can use the same QR code for all tapes. Actually, I was sleeping on phoenix wallet for a bit but its a whole node in your phone?! I also added the bolt12 to zine.bitpunk.FM/support with a cool javascript copy to clipboard button. This is also the psgr that my RSS feeds have for the funding tag. image
I just migrated all my feeds to a static site. Let me know if there any issues but I think its actually working. If it is working, its thanks to podping, which quickly-ish lets podcast clients know about the update. I've left castapod. I think castapod was not horrible, I was self hosting it. At the end of the day though, when you can edit the xml directly you support every feature and this is what I was running up against. The site, all the media files from all my podcasts current can be downloaded and fit all on a single layer DVD. Which means, I can hopefully migrate it quickly if need be. I think there is potential for nostr to be more resilient than this in the future. But for now, I think having an easy clonable site that can pop around is best. Much like ubuweb. image
Everyone wants to get Grandma on bitcoin and #nostr. Grandma knows how to play cassettes. I think I'm winning the onboarding race.
🔥 🔥 🔥 There are some cool tracks on this tape. When you boost a song 99% goes to the artist. Can this analog tape get to the top?! Maybe I should make a one of special tape if it does?! image
Podroll could be such a killer feature for pidcasting apps like @Fountain. Substack has this feature when you subscribe to someone it goes, this person recommends X,Y,Z and its very effective. It's word of mouth discovery. If you subscribe to a podcast and that app says, hey, this podcast recommends ... it would be more decentralized because the feeds would be coming from podroll. I don't know many podcast app developers but if you do, encourage them to increase support for podroll! I'm going to start adding them to my feeds.
Keysend is pretty cool y'all. It's like a digital P.O. Box. It brings a small amount of people an immense amount of joy. And that's pretty good.
