A low-fi audiozine that puts the punk back in cypherpunk.
The nice thing about calling thing bits is trying to explain that there are 8 bits in a byte. Then you gotta explain that a kilobyte is 1024 bytes, unless you sell hard drives, than it's only 1000 bytes. It really just makes sense.
"To abandon violence is to abandon identity and return to tribal corportisim." -MM, overhead on the radio
"A hypnotizimable person is someone who just takes in this." Perhaps we'd say who consumes. Radio.bitpunk.fm
"Don't shout for help, shout fire if you want people to help you. People already feel to involved and don't want to help. But also fire is something to put out and move on with your life." Radio.bitpunk.fm
OH on radio.bitpunk.fm, a quote by Marshall McLuahn: "The voting age is right now 18, but in your time it will be 3." This guy.
A substack friend of mine writes for Igloo magazine and has a nice writeup of this album here: Currently putting it on tape after grabbing it from bandcamp. The download album is super nice tbh, it let's you pick the format and gives you a zip with album art. Which @StevenB says The Split Kit can do, but I haven't tried it yet. Bandcamp really caters to the offline listener, which is cool. And there is nothing like taking wav files and putting them on cassette.
The next issue of bitpunk fm will be the 1 year anniversary! It will also be going with, like it did a year ago, to BTC Prague. For the music, I'm taking Long Distance Dedications like Casy Kasem. (Look him up if you havent heard about it, he was pretty interesting). So you can write in and dedicate a song from lnbeats.com I'll pick maybe 1 or 2 letters. Preference to those that are mailed in but I'll take digital letters as well. See you in Prague for dev/hack/day and I'll teach you how to add lightning to live audio and video streams!
What I like about podcast index is you can just download mp3s. I often make CDs and mixtapes of my favorite artists. Digital music is ephemeral. It only lasts as long as there are copies. So if you like music, copy it! image
Found this one yesterday. 1978. Imho it plays great but I don't mind the occasional crackle. image
