A low-fi audiozine that puts the punk back in cypherpunk.
I know it's not cool to talk about other socials, but there is a very nice poetry community of substack. This is the second time now I've done this poetry reading. This poem is crazy in all the good ways and I tried to bring it to life (not that it needed it). Also, the synth part came out really well I think. 🎹
Broadcasting on KBIT-FM, 95.7, here is December's issue. Featuring some poems by me, two tracks by @Sir HeyCitizen, a gonzo book review of a book I think y'all will enjoy (The Radio Phonics Laboratory), and a Bob Ross style soldering episode. The episode is mean to go along with a FM radio transmitter kit. Which you can request via a postcard to the P.O. box mentioned at the end of the episode. This is a small kit that you must solder yourself. When built, you can transmit audio via a 3.5mm jack maybe a meter or 2 to the FM radio band. 📻 This episode has a FM-taped-from-the-radio feel to it, so the tape hiss is intentional (it's also real tape effect, not a plug in). I had some tape room so I gave some shout outs to nostr friends and producers, I'll also get you on the jcards. This is now the 6 episode, every month for 6 months. What a trip it's been! Thank y'all for listening and supporting the show. The slate is cleared now for January submissions! Enjoy 😀📡📻 image
I'm laying out the 2 sides of episode 0.5 now. As usual, I think I don't have enough but then it overflows the tape. So, I'm keeping my haiku answering machine going for a bit. I got some nice poems already, but feel free to add more: 1-877-BIT-LOFI. I'll make a nice collage in January of the haikus.
Received the next issue from this UK mixtape mag. This crew is so baller. They reel their own cassettes (not sure if that's the term, but they load the tape into the cartridge in house).
Really happy with this find. The cover illustration is beautiful and it's mainly (or so far) piano arrangements! Dual LP also in excellent contrition. Pressed in Prague, 1975. I really need to do some better music browsing when I'm back there. I'll blow off most of BTC prague and head to see my friend Max and Maximum Underground (best record store in Prague, btw). image
One of the best antiwar protest songs, based on a true story, and Thanksgiving day theme is on this cassette. image
To the person who keeps leaving a voice mail asking to speak to a representative at 1-877-BIT-LOFI, I have updated my outgoing to respond.
FM radio kits work. There is no crystal osscilator on these kits! They will be shipped with the next episode, which will have a Bob Ross style solder-with-me feel. image
