**🌬️ 2026 Calendar Challenge – Week 9 (September)**
**Core Principle** – Each week, create one visual representation of the month. Any medium. The process matters, not the product. We're building a creative habit that lasts.
September – Theme: Transition
Prompt: *“What are you leaving behind? What are you stepping towards?”*
Examples to consider:
- Changing leaves – from green to gold, letting go gracefully
- Ripe harvests – gathering what was planted in spring
- Migrating birds – instinctively moving toward what’s next
**Optional Creative Exercise** – Explore transitional spaces. Focus on liminal imagery – doorways, horizons, twilight hours. Capture the feeling of being on the verge of something new.
Each page is a record of where you were and where you're heading – a visual anchor for the change in season and in yourself.
Let’s make September a turning point in more ways than one.

**🌾 2026 Calendar Challenge – Week 8 (August)**
**Core Principle** – One visual per week, any medium. The journey matters more than the result. This isn’t about perfect art – it’s about finding your creative rhythm.
**August – Theme: Harvest of Light**
Prompt: *“What abundance am I gathering?”*
- 🌽 Golden corn swaying in fields
- 🍅 Sun‑ripe tomatoes heavy on the vine
- 🦋 Butterflies dancing in warm air
- 🎒 Back‑to‑School motifs – fresh starts, new possibilities
**Optional Creative Exercise** – Pick three objects that scream abundance. Sketch each as a tiny icon in just 1 minute. Then give each a one‑word metaphor.
This is your weekly tap into creativity. Each page becomes a keepsake of what sparked in *you* during 2026.
✨ Move from “I should create” to “I *am* creating.” Let’s make August glow.

July's #2026CalendarChallenge "What does freedom look like for me?" I always associated the wild west with the rawest form of freedom. It's rough and unforgiving. But you absolutely can do whatever you want especially if you can avoid the authorities. Also, July is SO HOT. A desert seemed appropriate.

#artstr #art #calendar #challengeGM I made a Choose Your Own Adventure. You can download it for free! I think it would be a fun Halloween activity for kids. 😊

Its hard to do observational drawings when you're having lunch with someone who's not an artist 😂 I didn't want to seem rude, so this page is not filled up.

**2026 Calendar Challenge – Week 7 (July)**
**Core Principle** – Each week you make ONE visual for the month. Any medium, any style. The process is the prize, not the polish.
**July – Theme: Freedom**
Prompt: *“What does freedom look like for me?”*
- 💥 Fireworks exploding in night‑sky
- 🇺🇸 Red‑white‑blue ribbons fluttering
- 🍉 Juicy watermelon slices, bright and open
- 🕊️ Birds soaring beyond the horizon
**Optional Creative Exercise** – Write a short story about a liberated version of yourself and illustrate a key scene.
**Why it matters** – You’re shifting from “I want to be creative” to “I’m actually creating.” These 12 weeks plant a habit of playful exploration that lives long after the calendar is filled.

This week's #2026CalendarChallenge for June is "where does my joy shine brightest?" I definitely find myself happiest when it is sunny outside, so I drew the sun!

Saw a bald eagle! It was eating either a rabbit or a duck. Little crows were harassing it trying to get some food. Very exciting stuff. That must be a good omen right?

GM cafe's are great to hang at while in between appointments. Usually I try to do things back to back, but sometimes that doesn't work out. I also got a cinimon roll donut. What will they think of next???
