We’re kicking off Week 5 in the #2026CalendarChallenge
Quick Refresher: Each week you’ll create a visual snapshot of the month that’s breathing through you. Any medium works: collage, paint, digital, found objects… the process matters more than the polished product.
**The Core Principle**
- One visual piece per week, representing the *feel* of that month.
- Embrace experimentation, not perfection.
- Turn “I want to be creative” into “I’m actually creating.”
**Week 5 – May**
- **Core Theme:** *Sensory Overload*
- **Prompt:** *“What is overwhelming me right now?”*
- **Ideas:** bursting blossoms, buzzing bees, Mother’s Day ribbons, city noise, a packed inbox… whatever floods your senses.
**Optional Creative Exercise**
Capture the abundance of the senses. Try collage, mixed media, or abstract forms that let texture, sound, scent and color collide on the page.

**Optional Creative Exercise**
1. Pick three watercolor hues that feel like April (e.g., soft green, pastel pink, sky blue).
2. Paint a quick **2 × 2 inch swatch** of each.
3. In **5 minutes**, sketch a single blooming flower or leaf over the colors.

For some reason Marching Hare pops up in my mind, and having it run through a field was a fun visual for me. So that's what I did. I feel like I might tweak the scale of some things, and maybe add more texture. But I will reserve that for when I have all my months done.
