We are at the end of the first week of the #2026CalendarChallenge As a reminder January was: Fresh Beginnings. What does a new year feel like for me? Here's a look at where I am at! I "finished" January (honestly I will probably go back and adjust things, but I will do that later at the very end so I don't obsess) Here is the page I tried to convey a magic filled winter night. That's what new year feels like for me. The magic of new beginnings and the change in the air. There's so much potential in the air, the moment the sun is up things will happen. Yea I see so many things I want to adjust BUT I need to keep going. This is supposed to be fun. Here is the overall layout of all the sketches I did over the past week. It looks somewhat cohesive. Who knows if I'll stick to what I have sketched out here but it is nice to see everything together. It gives me a cohesive view of everything and will help me make decisions in the design process. You don't have to do this, this is just a personal preference. I do big strokes first, then I refine and go into the details. I forgot I made myself a color/visual guide 😂 Sometimes I do WAY too much planning and I forget half of what I originally wanted to do. Gotta say August and September were tough for me. I don't have anything strongly associated with them except it is a time of transition. I thought for September a red tailed hawk would be fun along with the Harvest Moon.
