Sunday thought from “Where are you really going?” - Richard L. Evans
“These minds, these bodies God has given, with their wondrous physical functioning, must last a mortal lifetime—and to impair or dull the senses, or damage their physical functioning, or abuse or fail to care for them—to indulge in body-destroying, mind-dulling, spirit-blighting substances is a foolish, wicked unwisdom. Whatever is not good for man should not be used by man—or done by man.”
Do you ever meet people, or more so, know people, friends and family, and wonder how they make it through life?
Like how do they:
- make the money they do
- do the job the do
- function at all, lol
People probably think that about you too.
Specifically thinking about my father in law haha.
He has many idiosyncratic ways he does things.
At the same time I recognize I do as well.
That’s what I’m thinking about this morning
Unfortunately I think I have some tendonitis in my Achilles from running. I ramped up from running 9-12 miles and then went straight into 34 miles last week with a half marathon in there.
Did 9 miles yesterday and my ankle was extremely tight.
Time to ease back off I guess
If you haven’t seen Sound of Freedom yet, you really should.
You can get free tickets as well, just google it.
I cried a ton, and I feel a newfound motivation to work hard so I can help support the rescue of children.
Had a good time last night at Ed Debevic’s, a restaurant where the servers are rude and make fun of you.
This is one of their signs, all the better ones are on my wife’s phone, but gives the ideas.
Menus are strewn about your table carelessly.
They nicknamed my mother in law “Barb”
When you ask if you can get a drink refilled they say something liken “I guess” or “whatever”
Also the servers web up on a platform between the booths aisles and did a random YMCA dance.
Overall a great time
