Nostr is the breath of fresh air I was looking. As a heavy Internet user, social media is something I had mostly abandoned aside from sporadic Twitter usage. It always felt dirty, knowing that everything I post was logged & could be leveraged against me. Knowing the account wasn’t mine, an existed mostly as a tool of surveillance and advertising metrics was undeniable. Still is undeniable. Noster feels authentic and real. Not to say that any particular post or person feels more authentic and real, the sheer experience feels more real. No advertisement, no black box algorithm, no manipulation to keep engagement. Control has been returned to the user. The concept of not your keys, not your content has brought me back with enthusiasm to connecting with all of you on a social media platform

I remember exactly where I was in 2013 when I heard about Edward Snowden and what the NSA was up to. It fundamentally changed me.

Money used to be a communication protocol, representing value for output. Ever since the decoupling between gold and money, that protocol has been broken, creating the K shaped reality we live in today. Thank Satoshi we have Bitcoin, reestablishing this protocol, dare I say even improving upon it

Something about the honest nature of Nostr makes the experience of the social network more enjoyable. Subconsciously I feel more free. Thats a distinct difference from centralized platforms. A password isnt a private key. That difference is everything.

Wonder what the crossover is between people who played OSRS as a kid and the Bitcoin community

New to Nostr, love the concept. The current social media layout, from the algorithm to data ownership, has keep me off of them for years. this feels like a fresh take on a tired concept.
