they say the reason for the change is to stop poisoning the UTXO set, and instead of shoving data in the witness it can instead go in the op_return.
I have not seen any good faith back and forth on this, from anyone seeming neutral and knowledgeable enough to talk on it; and it is probably needed.
they also say that THEY THEMSELVES will carry on embedding data to the chain regardless of if the pull request is merged.
so i #asknostr ask yall, why should anyone appease this? why should I care one way or another?
