I'm influenced by the hippy generation of the 60s, although I grew up in the 70s it was still accepted parlance to use terms like "man" when referring to a casual acquaintance as in, "nice to meet you man" or "thanks for that man". I'm having a beer in a small East Van "saloon" and I've just come to the realization that my server is either a rocker with guy-liner and painted nails or they might be transitioning. I thank my server each time, "thank you man", I say with no ill intent but wonder, has this salutation now become inappropriate? I'm not hip with the new lingo and would probably sound ridiculous trying to use it. So I'm at a crossroads where words no longer serve my purpose, yet I want to express my appreciation. I guess, I'll resort to prayer hands and a slight bow from now on. That is until my ethnicity garners this as cultural appropriation and forboden. Help navigating the #matrix is appreciated 😷

Any one have a direct line to Luke Rudkowski? Let's get him purple pilled. I took a bootcamp run by Luke at Anarchopulco in 2017. He showed us how to be an ENG citizen journalist. At that time, I stressed that centralized platforms were precarious and relying on them to maintain your content was highly risky. At that time the "ad-pocolypse" was just getting under way. Creators were losing out in ad $ as YT banned their channels from splits due to controversial subject matter. Soon after this, entire channels were being deleted. Nostr is the answer. image

It's going to be a beautiful sunset... Hanging out on a little island in the Pacific North West, tending to a small farm as a house sitting gig. Learning something new everyday haha. I'll post a picture of the alpha rooster, he hates me and pecks my ankles when I go into the chicken coop. Blessed to be in this wonderful space πŸ™ image

Greybeard Radio is back! Going live at the top of the hour. Join in, send requests in the chat or maybe a shout out to a fellow nostrich, your favorite dev or anyone else that might be listening in. Share the link with someone who's never used Nostr, let's purple pill them. The show is targeted at "boomers" who will remember the music but maybe not yet involved with Bitcoin or Nostr. Hopefully they'll enjoy listening and decide to come back again with their own profile and ability to zap! We are making radio great again with old school FM coolness and chill. Enjoy the show!

Groovy pub at the marina... They don't take Bitcoin but I thought I'd leave a subliminal hint that they should. The margaritas here were good as well πŸ˜‰ Crane & Robin - Montague Harbour, Galiano Island, BC. image

Getting set to bring Greybeard Radio live stream back online, after a brief hiatus. No playlists on this show, it's off the cuff improv, requests, dedications and whatever else happens during the live show. We chat in real time, bring in voice callers, guests and surprise drop ins. Hope you'll watch/listen for it this weekend, we are coming to you from the west coast of Canada in the Gulf Islands (Galiano Island), fingers crossed 🀞for good Internet signal.

Why don't we can get these guys publishing their original music here on #Nostr From Nunavut a rugged northern territory in Canada, The Trade Offs are performing at a Blues and Roots festival near the 49th parallel. There is a crazy correlation with "aboriginal" music and blues. The influences can heard if you expand the sound pallet. Apologies for the poor camera and sound, it's all I had. Let's help artists like this reach a world wide audience. πŸ’ͺ#Nostr #Nostr. #TheTradeOffs I'll link their web in a post below this.

Damn! I think I've fallen prey to arguing with a bot on Twitter again. I always feel so ridiculous afterward.
