Homeschooling lesson for the day. The kids were learning about communism, socialism, and in particular what equity means. Two hyacinth bulbs we are forcing are shown in the pictures. If you are looking to clear out old fencerows and make them productive again, this is what pigs can do. This was a tangle of vines and brambles 3 weeks ago. Weeds were 6' high. It's that time of year here in NY where the freeze is upon us. To keep from having to carry buckets of water to the animals as long as possible, I'm routing my hoses with a high point and then slopes with no dips to allow the water to run out after use. Also an example of what not to do this time of year: letting your hoses coiled on the ground. They don't drain and you will be hauling water by hand. Also: disconnect the hoses from the yard hydrant after use. #farming #pigstr #grownostr #permaculture
