please correct me if i am wrong, but running filters on your node just stops your node from storing the transaction. however, as long as a spam block is mined, it doesn't matter that your node filters it. as long as the majority of miners use core, spam will be confirmed. miners would have to run spam filters which is not in their economic interest because spam creates transaction fees for them to generate revenue. #bitcoin #knots #plebnet

Stablecoins are going to be the next frontier. Visa and Mastercard are developing cards that directly interface with wallets for spend. Additionally, there are platforms they are enabling #bitcoin and stablecoin bill pay. (ie. spritz.finance) More will arrive soon. Save in #bitcoin and spend in stablecoins. You can use a dex to trade your #bitcoin for stablecoins when you need to spend and then use a Visa/Mastercard connected wallet. Less centralized than the current system, but still centralized, I know. But its a step in the right direction. This is how it scales to billions and fast. It's going to be like a digital version of how gold backed currencies and banks used to work. Deposit gold and receive cash to spend. Blockchains are really just competing to be the best stablecoin network at the end of the day. Does the #lightning network really scale #bitcoin to billions of people? I am not so certain. It eventually comes full circle to centralization as billions of people will use custodial wallets anyway. Billions of people will not run a node and manage their channels. Maybe that's just the pessimist in me. While I like the idea of lightning, I feel like the federated model (similar to liquid) will be the future. Not that it's the one I want, but I just see it happening more so than everyone running a lightning node. Either way its inventible that speed sacrifices decentralization and security. Maybe I am wrong and regarded. Who knows. Maybe #bitcoin just stays a store of value forever.

@River providing a #bitcoin interest savings account! Next step is to offer a debit card so I can use my cash balance to spend or pay bills. Won't need a bank anymore. Wonder if in the near future with bank regs changing to allow for bitcoin will we see an evolution of the "savings account" Maybe the multsig custody model would be baked into banks for said savings accounts? Hardcore bitcoiners obviously don't need the middlemen, but there are billions of people that do.
