Does the #lightning network really scale #bitcoin to billions of people? I am not so certain. It eventually comes full circle to centralization as billions of people will use custodial wallets anyway. Billions of people will not run a node and manage their channels. Maybe that's just the pessimist in me. While I like the idea of lightning, I feel like the federated model (similar to liquid) will be the future. Not that it's the one I want, but I just see it happening more so than everyone running a lightning node. Either way its inventible that speed sacrifices decentralization and security. Maybe I am wrong and regarded. Who knows. Maybe #bitcoin just stays a store of value forever.

Wonder if in the near future with bank regs changing to allow for bitcoin will we see an evolution of the "savings account" Maybe the multsig custody model would be baked into banks for said savings accounts? Hardcore bitcoiners obviously don't need the middlemen, but there are billions of people that do.
