I’ve posed this question here before and got excellent new music to listen to. Does anyone have some favourite albums to recommend? I’m always looking for new music I wouldn’t otherwise find on my own.

Bird of the day: Rainbow lorikeet
They are hollow-nesters but are not overly fussy. Rainbow Lorikeets have been seen nesting in palms, in rock crevices and even digging a hole at the base of a tree! Rainbow Lorikeets are 'communal roosters'. This means that on dusk, huge numbers of them congregate together in a few trees.

America in shambles

Daily Roman History:
After being nursed by a she-wolf on the banks of the Tiber when they were left for dead the legendary founder brothers of Rome, Romulus and Remus, grew up and set out to find a location for their new city. Romulus selected the Palatine hill, while Remus the Aventine Hill, both waiting for an omen for validation. Eventually Remus sighted six vultures on the Aventine, while shortly after that Romulus saw twelve over the Palatine. This lead to a disagreement over whether it was the time of arrival, or the total birds which held more importance. While Romulus began to make a furrow in the ground outlining where the walls of his city will be, Remus leapt over it declaring how inadequate these "walls" were. In a fit of anger Romulus killed his brother, ensuring his site, and name, was used in the new city.

GOOD MORNING AND HAPPY HALVING DAY MOTHERFUCKERS
I’m going to eat cake and crush beers tomorrow evening!
Daily Roman History:
An early shock to the Roman system occured after the Battle of Allia in 387BC. Against a Gallic army lead by Brennus the Romans, surprisingly, were utterly routed. As shocked as the Romans were to this outcome the Gauls held back for a time before it was clear Roman had no surprises in store. Arriving at Rome the Gauls encamped overnight, again afraid of a trap, however this proved unnecessary as the Roman army remnants had fled to the recently conquered city of Veii, rather then the Capital leaving the city defenseless. Thus, the sack of Rome began. For days street fighting, looting and fires raged. Eventually the citizens sheltering in the citadel on the Capitalline Hill offered a ransom to end the seige. Agreeing to this request Brennus put the amount at 1000lbs of gold, with the Gauls providing the scale for measuments. When the Romans brought up the fact the scales appeared to be rigged in the Gallic favor Brennus threw his sword on the counterbalance and said "Vae victis" or "Woe to the vanquished", increasing the total owed. This event shook Rome to its core, and the boogeyman of Gaul would remain until Caesars conquest hundreds of years later.

Bird of the day: Sulfur Crested Cockatoo
This bird is so fucking rock n roll. Sulphur-crested Cockatoos have a distinctive yellow crest on the back of their head which sticks up when alarmed. They also have a dark black beak. Male and female birds are similar in appearance. The Sulphur-crested Cockatoo's diet includes grass seeds, plants, nuts and insects.
