The muddy legal wake of Prime Trust imploding should worry you if you keep Bitcoin in a self-directed IRA. Even if you hold the keys in a multisig setup, how sure are you that the protections extended to securities will apply to your stack if the IRA firm goes belly-up? Will you be able to transfer to a new firm without tax penalties if the current one folds? All that uncertainty paid for with high onboarding and maintenance fees. Hard pass.

Hey #[0] any chance of adding a Bitcoin-mode UI toggle to Cash App? Move all the fiat and stock stuff to deeper menus and change the theme from green to orange. 😎🙏🏼

Bitcoin taught me how to plan for the future, and tolerate volatility in the meantime. Learning about, and tinkering with, the technology itself is a hobby that reaps benefits. Gold taught me how to save for the now, diverting disposable income into a (relatively) stable-value asset, versus the things I otherwise would’ve wasted my money on. Yes, the shiny yellow rock is inferior to Bitcoin in all technical aspects. But as with fixed income vs. equity allocations, sometimes you need a psychological anchor to stick to your plan. And it is sticking. 😎 image

Learning how Bitcoin works is like learning basic physics. Not really all that hard. Learning how Lightning works is like learning quantum mechanics. And every new L2 proposal is like a completely different set of laws. My peanut brain no comprende. ☹️

Got a bunch of wallets with about 300ish UTXOs in total. Loading them while connected to my old Kaby Lake PC running Fulcrum: 3 seconds, if that. Loading them while connected to my Pi 4 running Electrs: Sparrow stalls out, BlueWallet still says “updating” after my phone’s screen goes to sleep. Is it the hardware? The Electrum server software? The volume of data? All three? Is there a single thing that can be changed that would significantly improve things?

Mullvad getting rid of port forwarding sucks balls, if you’re running both a node and Sparrow for CoinJoining on the same machine. Can’t connect to your node if the VPN is on. Have to use the far flakier Tor toggle for Whirlpool if the VPN is off. Bah.

I really enjoy Bitcoin Twitter the most when we’re not constantly expressing our own political views that have nothing to do with apolitical money. image

I'm not very good at this stuff, but I'd love to take apart my Ledger Nano X and turn it into a USBKill device, then wear the thing around my neck Snoop-style and wait for someone to snatch it. 😂 Wonder how much work that'd take...

As much as I wish this ordinals bullshit never came about, I’m almost thankful the mempool congestion brought Liquid, Ark, Enigma and other L2 solutions to the forefront. Almost.
