“If the federal government had access to every email you've ever written and every phone call you've ever made, it's almost certain that they could find something you've done which violates a provision in the 27,000 pages of federal statues or 10,000 administrative regulations. You probably do have something to hide, you just don't know it yet.”

A viral LinkedIn post I saw this morning was comparing Bluesky CEO Jay Graber to Zuck. It was a cool post that touched on decentralization and free speech.
Ofc I had to let the thousands seeing it know that Bluesky is not the bastion of free speech.

All private data connected to the internet will eventually meet one of three ends:
1) Sold to advertisers/third parties
2) Beached - dark web
3) Forcefully collected by a government
We need to and normalize privacy tools like email aliasing into all bits of personal data. Phone numbers, addresses, credit cards. That’d just be the start with heaps more to cover, but it would begin shifting things in the right direction.
