In a short attention span #world, here I am looking for my interest in long form #writing again. I’ve rediscovered my blog on #wordpress. Are there any analog sentients(humans) around anymore who enjoy reading?

(Incoming ~2min brain wandering read @ 250wpm) I could be way off base on this of course, but: I wonder how relevant #bitcoin is for people with no fiat resources. How do you market the “wonders” of #bitcoin #lightning #satoshis as a digital currency to people who have nothing to get into the ecosystem with and cannot use practically, and as easily, to lessen all the burden associated with the fiat system? Also, where’s the incentive for people who have sats to spend them? V4V is fantastic, but I get the feeling that the bar for exercising that might be pretty high if the prevailing mindset of the ecosystem is to hold/hoard. Is digital currency going to suffer the same fate as fiat? The slow decay of resources being concentrated into the wallets of fewer and fewer people? I guess the saving grace right now for poor folk is that no one is demanding sats to keep the power on, food on the table, and medication in the cabinet. —————————————- At the end of the day, in this post-scarcity, big-waste economy, we need to find a way to get past the entire concept of bartering for basic resources to begin with, or at least find another positive motivator, besides wealth accumulation, for producers, of any stripe, to do what they do. One would think, since humans need to belong in some capacity, and need to feel appreciated to some degree, that getting these things would be sufficient motivation to keep going, but here we are anyway. Maybe this is where autonomous AI, or whatever the actual hallucination-free evolution of it ends up being, and robotics can step in. Robots, who couldn’t give less than a shit about wealth and have no exorbitant pride, vanity, and other toxic human mental pathologies, they produce the food, manage the water, power, goods and services markets, physical logistics, etc. It’s not like we’re too far away, technologically, from this possibility now. No one gets to decide who gets access to the resources. By simple virtue of being alive, everyone gets access, from birth to death, no qualification needed. The only decision the artificial sentients make is how to most efficiently deliver the resources to people. AI could manage the logistics of resource delivery needs on a person-by-person basis, to make it a bit less Orwellian. Again, if we’re producing so much that farmers are letting crops waste away in the field due to less demand, and grocery store chains are literally throwing away unsold food items even before their expiration dates, there is no good reason why anyone should be going without food. Roddenberry was onto something way back in the 20th century. If we want to keep humans in the loop somewhere, then I’d say keep us in support and back up maintenance roles (because the artificial sentients would be the primary minds behind maintenance and improvement of the resources delivery system). Given the state of things everywhere on, and in the history of this planet since our evolution into what we are today, humans clearly cannot be trusted to take care of each other as a group.

I got reeled in and went down the AI rabbit hole for a bit, doing double the work to confirm the accuracy of answers provided by it, and nope, it’s (still) garbage. It seems that the every day layperson really has no reliable source to get factual information online, outside of academic resources, and even that seems to be getting tainted by politicking/money based propagandizing/motivation. If it is in humanity’s nature to destroy itself, then the attack on facts will go a long way to getting us there. There is no source and no one who can be trusted as a steward of objective truth, or perhaps the very concept of objective truth is a hallucination in and of itself.

#nostr Experience Update: (From the perspective of a regular Win+iOS nostrean who is not involved in dev, testing, or the BTC cheerleading squad) Probably not surprisingly, the only tricky part for me, initially, to getting this far in the experience was setting up and connecting a lightning wallet, but it’s been a fairly steady experience so far after that. Any negatives I might experience with analog people here are easily fixable thanks to the mute function. I’m not a fan of having my access to the shared ideas of other analog people “curated” for me. I also appreciate the minimalist kind of experience I’m getting here so far, at least in the interfaces I’m using. I’d probably tell any non techy person that nostr is technically free to use, but they’ll probably have a better time with it if they can get a wallet setup so they can participate in the whole v4v thing, which to me, makes a lot more sense as a way to show appreciation for the work or helpfulness that positively impacts us, and minimizes middle-man price gouging.
