When I worked at a national newspaper in London, the two biggest public demonstrations against UK govt policy that I covered were: 'Don't go to war in Iraq' & the Countryside Alliance's 'Don't ban hunting'.
Neither had any effect on policy.
This will be the next learning experience for another chunk of the UK population. They all add up in the end.
