I still want to see somebody creating an alternative to the relay network and querying filters we have today. Essentially, reuse our signed events in a more interesting query language, event distribution and caching systems. Nothing is lost, just a different way to spread Nostr events.

At a high school graduation today, taking to a few students afraid (more like pissed) of AI taking all the jobs, I raised this simple exercise: Use AI to create a new joke that will make your friends laugh. That's it. Just try it. Yes, AI can write anything better and faster than any of us. But making it write to the context you need, with the quality you require is the new job. Software has never been about how fast/well you can write. It was always about how well can you discover product requirements and translate them into working code. Writting was just the annoying thing everyone had to do until now.

I think coding will follow the path of chess. In the same way that many moves are too complex to be fully understood by humans, there will be entire codebases made by AI that are too complex for humans. Humans can walk through them and understand what's happening, but they will never have the level of comprehension required to suggest improvements to them. I can already see that today with some generated code where the AI is clearly telling me, "I can keep all of these different states in mind while developing new features," and you just can't. It sucks to be you.

One of the coolest shifts in coding is the ability to ask 5 different AI sessions to write 5 different solutions, then run them all side-by-side as a full app to see proof of what actually performs best. This could never have happened before AI. If you are a dev and you are still guessing which methods work better or going by your own feeling or intuition, you are not prepared for the level of scrutiny of your code that is about to come.

People putting 4 GPUs in the computer so that they can ask the local agent to run ffmpeg correctly is so 2026. ๐Ÿš€

Fun Fact: The FDA only allows clinical trials for drug development if the drug is targeting a disease. Since aging is not a disease, clinical research is virtually non-existent when compared to other barriers to healthy living.

Everything has its time. If we had AI in the age of MySpace, we would have broken the web.
