Cerro Koi 🧱⛰️ What a wild and unique formation. We hiked this natural wonder with our daughter in the backpack and enjoyed a peaceful moment at the top — panoramic views over the lake, the breeze, and just silence. This hill is made of polygonal sandstone columns, which is extremely rare in the world and only found in a few places. One of those… right here in Paraguay. We’re still staying in Areguá, but moved into a different house — a place with beautiful, thoughtful architecture and a warm, grounded energy. Winter days, muddy feet & strawberry bliss 🍓 Paraguayan winters are unpredictable — warm one day, grey and misty the next. And yet, that’s exactly what we love about it here in Areguá. When the weather flips, we leave the shoes behind and reconnect with the earth, quite literally. Mud between the toes, cold grass underfoot, lungs full of fresh lake air. No better way to ground ourselves — body and mind. This place has a rhythm of its own. Streets lined with trees, small paths leading to lake views, and everywhere you look… strawberries. Lots of them. We stumbled into the local Expo Frutilla, and wow — pies, juices, towers of fresh fruit. No filters needed. We’ve been hopping from place to place throughout this trip, but Areguá made us want to slow down. We’re staying longer — and switching to a new home soon. If it turns out cozy, we’ll share it too 😉 This season is all about balance: sweet treats and gym days, family time and silence, movement and recovery. Areguá 🍓 — strawberry village vibes & tranquil living This might just be our favorite stop so far. Areguá is a peaceful little strawberry town nestled by the lake. Every corner has something to make you smile—markets overflowing with fresh berries, cozy cafés under the trees, and people who take life a little slower. We’ve been completely in the moment here. A few quiet days in Coronel Oviedo 🇵🇾 Not much going on here — just time to slow down, reset, and enjoy being together as a family. We’re traveling with two close family members who feel like soulmates. Being around them feels natural — no masks, no effort, just real connection. 🧡 Our little one had a bit of a healing phase after a heavy and overstimulating week in Ciudad Del Este. Honestly, we all needed the downtime. Grateful for the space to breathe. We had a proper Paraguayan asado this week 🔥 All-you-can-eat meat straight from the grill, fresh veggies, and delicious sauces — for just €7 including a drink. We skipped the beer though — alcohol isn’t really our thing 🍃 The rest of the days were filled with: • ⚙️ Online work • 💪 Training at a local gym (sweat, no excuses) • ☕️ Casual walks in search of coffee and warm little places Nothing fancy, just slow and steady progress — physically, emotionally, spiritually. “Live to improve, not to impress.” Now we’re getting ready for our next stop: Areguá. Farewell Ciudad del Este 🇵🇾 Before leaving this intense and buzzing city, we wrapped up our visit with two highlights that captured both Paraguay’s power and its peace: 🔌 Itaipu Dam We couldn’t skip a visit to the famous Itaipu Dam — the second largest hydroelectric dam in the world (by generation capacity). The scale of this engineering marvel is impossible to capture on camera. We took a full tour around and over the dam, and suddenly the thriving local Bitcoin mining scene made perfect sense. Cheap hydro = hash heaven. 🌊 Saltos del Monday To balance out the tech and power, we went straight to nature. These Paraguayan waterfalls offered a serene moment of reflection after the noise and chaos of the city. A stunning local gem, just minutes from the urban jungle. That was our last day in Ciudad del Este. We’re now slowly heading west, taking a short break in Coronel Oviedo — nothing touristy, just getting back to basics: working online, exploring local gyms 💪, and giving our daughter some routine and calm after a packed week. The scale was next-level, the security even more so. No cameras allowed… but we still managed to snap two shots 👀📸 This operation currently mines around 5 BTC per day, fully powered by renewable hydro energy from Itaipú. Paraguay has serious energy potential, and Bitcoin is tapping into it. ⛏️ More than that — we connected with amazing local Bitcoiners. But this city hits differently. Known for its tax-free shopping, Ciudad del Este is a chaotic puzzle of bustling stalls, packed shops, and trucks heading off fully loaded across the Brazilian border. 🇧🇷 Not everything is ideal though. Sleeping here has been challenging – there’s a noticeable intensity in the air, both in noise and energy. The radiation (or maybe just the city buzz) makes itself felt.
