hello everyone, v0.2.7 has been released on https://flycat.club now 🎉 in this version, we refactored the timeline with a simple cache and some UX/UI improvements, and some performance issues have been revisited to reduce the CPU/memory cost of the web page. also, we fixed a lot of bugs(there still remains a lot to be fixed btw, so just be patient and wait). we also added support to export/import your local database on flycat, you can check out the settings page to do that. check the full release changes

View quoted note → View quoted note → 我倒觉得应该从客户端开始，现在缺的是好的产品设计，如果有某个客户端能做出好设计，最后所有客户端都会朝这个设计收敛的。用户不知道怎么使用，再多给他们一套关于怎么使用的元规则，感觉更复杂了。好的产品会反过来让用户“想用”同时教会他们“怎么用”。一个比较好的类比是 notion ，nostr 理论上甚至比 notion 还要更强大更灵活。

time is just different now. we are not at the early edge when the internet / mobile phones just came out. people are used to all kinds of easy and fancy apps, especially social networks. we need new things to bring people over. The reason that decentralization and censorship resistance will not work for normies is that most people don't have to. to some degree, we are all outcasts on Nostr. if you want to invite your popular friends to our little party, I can see there are only two ways of doing that: 1. make this new party fancy and precious so they want to come. eg: there is at least one subject where the greatest content and smartest people is only visible on Nostr instead of any other social media. we had a poor job at this aspect, think the most talked topic like #Bitcoin , the hottest topics right now is #brc20 #ordinals #inscriptions but Twitter has more discussion and debates going on than #Nostr 2. provide a decentralization version of Twitter/Facebook but with 100x better UX/UI and pay a lot of money on marketing/operation to migrate people from those products. apparently, this is not the future for Nostr as well.

不知道是不是因为我没有氪金，我觉得chatGPT 3.5 的版本，翻译还是很拉阿。就这一件事，理论上应该是 llm 最擅长干的事了，但是干得还是不太满意，沟通了几次我直接就不想用了。我的诉求是把我上一条note里面提到的那篇英文文章翻译为中文，但是翻译质量真的不敢恭维。哪怕我一直给他promot 叫他不要逐词翻译，力保可读性、中文流畅度，还是达不到我觉得可以接受的标准。
