somebody sent me this: https://github.com/HORNET-Storage/bips/blob/master/bip-0447.mediawiki im gonna talk about it: i mean how about we just store the hash, and store the data outside of the chain. that is basically what you had to do with 42 byte size limit. and instead of storing one hash per data how about we create pools and networks and store the hash of hashes once. why do you need the data on the chain at all. also dont like the intro, which has been talked about many times. centralized mining pools charge you more because they risk having stale blocks when they go against the network filters. and future nodes can actually make it more likely by delaying the propagation of blocks that doesn't fit into their filters based on weight, punishing the miners. everyone having their own node is important, and that's why making running a node popular and easier is important. running a node should be more useful out of the box. you shouldnt need another hardware, it should optimize the store so you can run it on your laptop. without worrying about the storage it takes. its just brain gymnastics trying to solve the mining centralization by allowing more data on chain. also without inscriptions filter, nobody is gonna pay more for the OP_RETURN. solution to mining centralization is DATUM (or similar pool protocols), and more nodes run by normal people. put the data on blossom: and put the hash on the chain... that easy...

i have a feeling if japan population goes down, many things will get cheaper. and people will be worth more. and then people will start making more babies. which will fill the land, housing problems etc. so people will have less babies again. then everything will get cheaper and people will be worth more. and then people will start making more babies. which will fill the land, housing problems etc. so people will have less babies again. then everything will get cheaper and people will be worth more. and then people will start making more babies. which will fill the land, housing problems etc. so people will have less babies again. then everything will get cheaper and people will be worth more. and then people will start making more babies. which will fill the land, housing problems etc. so people will have less babies again. then everything will get cheaper and people will be worth more. and then people will start making more babies. which will fill the land, housing problems etc. so people will have less babies again. then everything will get cheaper and people will be worth more. so best way to solve the problem is doing nothing.

fun fact, if you make a fake painting of a famous artist, and the artist verifies he made it himself, then it suddenly has value as if the artist made it himself.

If every rule in Bitcoin was consensus and we didn't have any policy, then the network wouldn't be as decentralized. Having minimum consensus rules and rest of the things as policy keeps the network fluid and dynamic. This way, every user on the network can decide what their policy rules are and even different implementations can implement different policy rules and such. Which creates a free market of policy rules that can change dynamically, which keeps the network and its rules fluid and adapting. If everything was consensus, then changes would require a fork or a chain split, which is not ideal. It creates problem of the democracies. In a democracy, you have to follow the rules based on what has been decided. Right? So, yes and no can't live together in parallel in democracy. Because democracy works for a single outcome and this is consensus, right? So, different consensus real rules can't exist on the same network, it would split the network, right? But with policy rules, it is a lot more like free markets. So, multiple different policy rules can exist at the same time in the network. Consensus is like written rules, or, let's say, federal rules, right? So, if you are all for the smaller government, you are also for smaller consensus rules. And where everything can complex is community rules, right? So, a community rule is like unwritten rules. What people talk to with each other, like what they gossip about, right? And what they do, how they act, when somebody else does something, right? So these are not written rules. And they can be dynamic, adapting and changing, fluid, right? It has all the advantages of the free markets. And it is beautiful!

Same way changing consensus changes Bitcoin or doing soft or hard fork changes what Bitcoin is. Same way changing policy also changes Bitcoin. So no matter if something is consensus or policy, it is important to be careful while touching them. View quoted note →

Bitcoin is not just consensus, Bitcoin is consensus and policy. And policy is not less important than consensus. It's more beneficial to have some stuff as dynamic instead of static consensus. That's why policy exists. Policy is not consensus, not because they are less important, because it is more advantageous for them to be dynamic and fluid across the network.
