Find a better life ahead.
In a society that profits from your self doubt, liking yourself is a rebellious act. image
CrowdHealth has a new podcast! And it's good. The Sovereign Health Podcast. You can find it on the various pod feeds and YouTube.
4 months on carnivore! I'll probably go get some blood work done in a couple of months, but anecdotally, every marker of health has improved dramatically. To be fair it hasn't been a perfect 4 months. I had a nasty virus that hung on for a few weeks, a business trip, some minor cheats for various reasons, not enough fat in my diet during one period, and the initial transition period. I feel like I'm becoming more fat adapted and the middle aged health maladies are all going away. Normal blood pressure, better pulse, better breathing, less joint cracking, better joint stability, better sleep, improved mental clarity, memory, focus, and mood, weight loss, muscle gain, and so on. It is a slightly boring way of eating to be honest, although I have never cut out spices, garnishes, mushrooms, and similar incidentals. I also eat some avocados. At some point I still think I might go low carb/keto-vore, but I would like to get the excess weight off first. I still have 2 inches to lose for my waist to be half of my height. #grownostr #carnivore #keto image
My native bamboo AKA Rivercane is still sending out more shoots! This is the third year I've tried to grow it, and the first time I have gotten it to take. The tallest shoots are almost waist high, so while it is still a bit fragile it looks like it's going to do fine. I have a pretty large space for it to fill in a hollow, maybe half an acre, so this is a bit of a long-term project intended to control runoff, capture eroding soil, create biodiversity, and obviously grow canes that can be useful for a variety of purposes. For those wondering, yes this is a running type like people complain about being hard to control, which is pretty much exactly what I need to fill this space. For those interested in growing it in smaller areas there are actually ways to control it. Also we are at the northern end of its native range, and I don't expect it to be quite as vigorous here as it is farther south. #grownostr #Rivercane image

My native Rivercane is finally taking! This is the third year I've tried to grow it. There isn't much that came up, but it is looking good for a first year root transplant. #grownostr image
I planted native mulberry along this hillside, but it is either gone or struggling. And then this red mulberry popped up seeming out of nowhere. image
Today's new word: "Fat Farma" Used in a sentence: Go ahead, Fat Farma, call my carnivore/keto diet a fad. I f-ing dare you... You see, it's like this... Because of the bull you put me and my friends through over the last decades, we now need a healing diet, so shut your mouth and stand down, because now I'm going to fix what you screwed up. Besides, as it turns out, I actually like this way of eating. I'm good. So, Fat Farma, farewell, and may the "well" in your "fare" be the same "well" with which you treat others. #wellness #grownostr #fatfarma
Medical knowledge is no longer the Monopoly of physicians. -Dr. Nadir Ali And, I would add, their 90 seconds in front of you does not equal your experience of living a lifetime in your body. #grownostr
So, it turns out chat GPT can check and correct letters in Spanish. I am a non-native Spanish speaker, and needed to write a Spanish letter, but I don't have a Spanish keyboard installed. Easy and done. And it fixed an error I missed and another I didn't realize was wrong.
