📜 Happy White Paper Day.
I’m currently listening to The Creature from Jekyll Island, and in Chapter 3 — Protectors of the Public — Griffin lays out a pattern we’re never taught in school: when large corporations and banks fail, the Federal Reserve steps in as the “lender of last resort”. But that phrase has a cost — money created out of nothing, paid for by the public through inflation. 💸🔥
Here are several examples he lists:
• 📉 1970 — Penn Central Railroad: $125M in guaranteed loans
• ✈️ 1970 — Lockheed: $250M in guaranteed loans
• 🗽 1975 — New York City: $2.3B in federal loans
• 🚗 1978 — Chrysler: $1.5B loan guarantee
• 🏦 1972 — Commonwealth Bank of Detroit: FDIC rescue with $60M
• 💰 1979 — First Pennsylvania Bank: $325M loan — interest free for the first year
• 🏙️ 1982 — Continental Illinois (Chicago): FDIC absorbed $4.5B in bad loans and took 80% ownership
• 🏚️ 2008 — Mortgage crisis: “Too big to fail.” Congress approved a $700B bailout for the largest banks
Griffin ends the chapter with a mic-drop worthy quote 🎤👇:
“We must remember that the phrase ‘lender of last resort’ means the money is created out of nothing, resulting in the confiscation of wealth through inflation.”
In October 2008, the same month the Federal Reserve executed the largest bailout in history — at the expense of the purchasing power of the American public and beyond — Satoshi Nakamoto released The White Paper. 🧡🧠
History changed forever.
For the first time, the everyday person had a peaceful way to opt-out. ✌️🛡️
I’m so grateful to be part of this revolution. 🙏⚡
Happy White Paper Day. Stay humble. Stack sats. 🧡🟧💊

Surfing is a metaphor for life 🌊
This week in the @BitcoinJungle 🏝️ I’ve been learning so much about the deeper lessons surfing teaches me about life itself.
Our instructor said something that really stuck with me:
“Surfing is a lot of feeling.”
Feeling the water — knowing when it’s time for me to paddle out, and when it’s time to catch the wave.
Feeling where I am on the board 🏄♀️
Feeling the wave moving beneath me — powerful, alive, energetic.
Out there, I can’t control the waves, the weather, the current, or the people around me 🌬️🌊
But I can control my training, my preparation, my mindset, my attitude, and my approach. 💪✨
That’s life too — I can’t control what comes my way, only how I meet it. 🌅

I don’t watch Netflix much tonight I’m glad I did.
Resurface is a short film (<30 minutes) released in 2017 that depicts the story of a non profit in Santa Cruz, CA helping veterans heal PTSD through surfing.
Highly recommend.
Maybe they’ll join nostr and start accepting donations in BTC.

This is so fiat. 🫠 We literally have a pregnant man emoji (🫃🏼, added in 2021 to be “inclusive”) but no separate baby boy 👶👦 or baby girl 👶👧 emojis. Just one generic 👶.
The Unicode Consortium (the group that decides emojis) says you’re “supposed” to combine the baby emoji with boy/girl if you want to be specific. Meanwhile, entirely new “inclusive pregnancy” emojis get their own dedicated slot.
How detached from reality have we become?
It’s not hard to imagine the pharma playbook: promote a drug as ‘safe’ for mothers (like Tylenol in pregnancy), only to see strong associations later with neurodevelopmental disorders such as ADHD — conveniently creating a market for more drugs like Adderall to ‘treat’ the very conditions they may have helped cause

I’m especially looking for TOOTHBRUSH RECOMMENDATIONS that are plastic-free (or as close as possible). If you’ve found something that works well, drop your suggestions!
