Our @npub1rg3a...d3r2 sponsored 'Verify the Planet' initiative has now come to a close.
Thanks to the PoW our Shadowy Supertaggers put in, we managed to:
1) Completely clear the legacy `currency:bitcoin` locations (either removing or updating them.
2) Get around 80% of the current 8,353 locations verified within the last year (average verification age is now around 180 days and falling).
Compare this situation to just 12-months ago when we had a pretty ugly dataset that nobody trusted.
What an achievement!
OK, so on to the prizes ...
Just 2 days remain for our 'Verify the Planet' initiative!
2.1M sats will be distributed to the top taggers this weekend during #bh2023, the birthplace of @BTC Map.

Big news - we have finally defeated the legacy tag boss. 💪
Over 7000 locations have been manually verified by our small, but dedicated team of Shadowy Supertaggers. 🥷
The final boss is to get to 100% verified locations. We're currently at 75% with 5864 out of 7833. 👀

We're excited to announce the distribution of the first half of our recent @Geyser grant as part of our 'Verify the Planet' initiative.
2.1M sats is being sent to our top Shadowy Supertaggers for their efforts in cleansing and maintaining the merchant dataset *to-date*.
The remaining 2.1M sats will be distributed based on activity between now and the end of August.
We were born during Baltic Honeybadger 2022 and so the remaining funds will be distributed at Baltic Honeybadger 2023!
