My bitcoin wallet suggestions. I had a friend ask so I'm sharing for everyone. Sparrow for desktop. Use Sparrow and coinjoin your coins with a troubled past with Samourai's Whirlpool service. Sparrow is also very good and integrating signing devices (ColdCard, Trezor, Seedsigner) for great security from online hackers. Samourai for Android. Samourai has a lot of interesting privacy features but make sure to use a self hosted (or friend hosted) Dojo if you want to keep your address lookups from being sent to the Samourai company. JoinMarket for a linux desktop or server. JoinMarket makes it possible to CoinJoin for free if you run a maker most of the time! Use Jam for a graphical front end to JoinMarket, otherwise you'll be working on the command line. I have never used Jam but it looks cool and useful for visualizing what is happening on JoinMarket. Zues and LND for lightning on Linux server with an Android GUI. Zeus can be linked up to your own LND node and makes using Lightning in a self sovereign way easy. Zues can also be linked Alby for convince but Alby is a custodian. Blixt for Lightning node on your Android device. I haven't used Blixt much but it does allow for creating channels from your phone which is really cool. Blixt has a feature where you send in coins and the wallet creates a channel automatically. Blixt has a lot of features for Lightning users. If you use Blixt, let me know how you like it.

@Nunya Bidness I'm listening to #747 and you said something about relying on Google for the Pixel phones. The Calyx and GraphineOS projects do a good job of removing Google software from the Pixel devices.

I have a soft spot for Roger Ver. He was very passionate about supporting bitcoin many years ago. And he played mono red in Magic the Gathering. Unfortunately he is either very out of touch with what is happening on bitcoin now or is lying his ass off. Roger said he didn't know of any privacy tools on bitcoin. WTF? There is Joinmarket, Samourai and Wasabi which have been around for years! Not to meantion all the new projects which are building better privacy on lightning such as Ark, Fediments and others. Roger also claims nobody was claiming bitcoin couldn't scale to p2p transactions in the early days. This is totally false! Anyone can see Hal Finney explaining how bitcoin couldn't scale as originally designed and offering solutions. This is a reminder to all everyone. Bitcoin is not well understood by even many folks who should know better. Have your facts ready to set the record straight. It may mean the difference between your friends and family being rich or getting rekt'd! Roger Ver questions bitcoin privacy tools: Roger Ver claims nobody was saying bitcoin couldn't scale p2p transactions: Hal Finney talking about scaling back in 2010!

For anyone who uses Bitwarden. Go into your settings and make sure your KDF algorithm is set at the recommended level or higher. Argon2id is a good algorithm. Changing these settings to something higher will make it more difficult for someone to guess your password if the Bitwarden encrypted passwords are ever leaked. Account Settings -> Security -> Keys The KDF algorithm is what LastPass had set to quite low which had many people concerned their passwords would be discovered when LastPass was hacked.

I have been learning from some folks living in El Salvador that it is possible to invest in real estate in El Salvador with only bitcoin! This largely avoids all the banking hassles which one might have trying to wire money from the USA to a "third world country". A hack could be, get a mortgage in the US for a home. Sell the home. Then use the money to buy bitcoin which you use to purchase a home in El Salvador. Slowly pay off the loan in the USA. What do you think? That being said, the banking situation in El Salvador is getting better! See the interview with Gladys from elsalvadorr11.com.
