Relay operators: paid relays, yay or nay? How are you sustaining yourselves? For example I run a relay for verified users @ nostr.zerofiat.world but I am not paywalling it at the moment. I'm not sure adding a paywall would help if I wanted to run it long-term either. I guess the most fair system would be pay-per-use (i.e. streaming sats in some fashion) but I cannot find any good information about it. Is this a solved problem or what are the current challenges with it?

Has anyone tried https://bard.google.com/ ? How does it stack up against chatGPT? I can't try it ootb because of my geolocation, anyone had success with VPNs to bypass?

Relay test, ignore

Nostr relay operators, what kind of average bandwidth are you using monthly? Some cheaper VPS providers offer 20TB bandwidth and that sounds plenty to me, but is it? I'm planning to setup a relay.

What VPS provider are you using? I'm going to setup a Nostr relay and I'm leaning towards Hetzner right now.

Would you be willing to pay a subscription fee (lightning invoice) for a high-quality Nostr relay? Why or why not? We are assuming that the relay would have good filters, uptime, and availability.

I think one thing that makes Nostr so great is the fact that I never feel like I am being manipulated by an algorithm. You can feel it on Twitter, Facebook, et al. They feed off your attention and try to keep you scrolling by any means necessary by using a lot of subtle tricks. It's engineered to drain you for all your worth. When I'm on Nostr I feel like I am in control of the feed I see. I can directly incentivize the content creators I like through zaps, motivating them to keep producing. Through zaps I am creating the world I want to see. Pura Vida fellow nostriches! 🤙⚡
