1/4 The Core of #Riba - Why Is It #Haram in #Islam? We teach our children that Riba (usury/interest) is Haram, a major sin in Islam. But do we explain why? It's not just an arbitrary rule. The prohibition of Riba is rooted in divine wisdom aimed at creating a just, fair, and compassionate society. Let's explore. ⚖️ #Riba #IslamicFinance 1. It's Inherently Unjust (Zulm): Riba allows wealth to grow from wealth alone, without creating any real value. A lender gets richer just by waiting, while the borrower in need falls deeper into debt. It transfers wealth from the poor to the rich, creating systemic inequality. 2. It Discourages Real Economic Activity: Why risk investing in a real business (which creates jobs and value) when you can get a "guaranteed" return from lending money? Riba incentivises hoarding and passive accumulation rather than productive, entrepreneurial effort. 3. It Erodes Compassion (Rahmah): Islam encourages helping those in need through charity (Sadaqah) and interest-free loans (Qard Hasan). Riba replaces this spirit of mutual support with cold, mathematical exploitation. It turns a relationship of aid into one of extraction. #NoRiba image

Common FUD about Bitcoin (and How to Debunk It) "Bitcoin is only for criminals!" 🦹‍♂️ "It uses too much energy!" ⚡️ "It's too volatile!" 🎢 Bonus: "Bitcoin can be hacked" 👨‍💻☣️ These are common fears (FUD). In "BITCOIN IS HALAL," Baba helps Adam and Layla look at the facts. Let's debunk some FUD! FUD 1: Criminals. Baba explains that the public, permanent blockchain is a poor choice for crime! It creates a digital trail that investigators can follow. Cash is far more anonymous. FUD 2: Energy. Yes, Bitcoin uses energy – that's what makes it secure ("bounded by energy"). But we put it in context: how does it compare to the traditional banking system or gold mining? Plus, the trend is towards using renewable energy. FUD 3: Volatility. Mama agrees the price is volatile. That's why the book stresses that Bitcoin is a long-term monetary technology, not a get-rich-quick scheme. The key is education, not speculation. DYOR! Bonus FUD 4: Get hacked. Bitcoin’s core protocol has never been hacked in 16+ years. It’s secured by the most powerful computing network on Earth. Quantum computers like Google’s Willow chip are still millions of qubits away from threatening Bitcoin’s cryptography. The system isn’t bulletproof, but it’s antifragile: it gets stronger under pressure.” Teaching our kids to think critically and separate hype from reality is a vital skill. "BITCOIN IS HALAL" gives them the tools to do just that. Explore some of these conversations and more in the book, available on Amazon & Google Play Books! #DYOR #CriticalThinking #Bitcoin #BitcoinFUD #BitcoinMyths #GreenBitcoin

@balajis Balaji Srinivasan’s The Network State: How to Start a New Country is a provocative blueprint for reimagining governance in the digital age. Balaji proposes a new form of nationhood called the network state - a digitally native community that begins online, aligns around a shared moral vision, and eventually acquires physical territory and diplomatic recognition. 🌐 Core Concept: The Network State Balaji proposes a new form of nationhood called the network state - a digitally native community that begins online, aligns around a shared moral vision, and eventually acquires physical territory and diplomatic recognition. 🧠 Key Ideas • Startup Societies: Begin with an online community united by a “One Commandment” - a moral innovation or shared purpose (e.g. sugar-free living, Bitcoin maximalism). • Digital First, Physical Later: These communities build trust online, then crowdfund real-world enclaves (apartments, towns, etc.) forming a “network archipelago.” • On-Chain Governance: Use blockchain tools—smart contracts, DAOs, crypto economies—for transparent, decentralized decision-making. • Diplomatic Recognition: The ultimate goal is to be acknowledged as a legitimate state by existing governments, backed by metrics like population, GDP, and land ownership. 🛠 Seven Steps to Build a Network State 1. Create a startup society around a shared moral vision. 2. Organize for collective action (like a union). 3. Build trust online and offline through meetups and crypto tools. 4. Crowdfund physical territory for community living. 5. Digitally connect nodes across geographies. 6. Run an on-chain census to prove legitimacy. 7. Seek diplomatic recognition as a sovereign entity. 🔍 Philosophical & Political Implications • Balaji critiques legacy nation-states as outdated, bureaucratic, and resistant to reform. • He sees the network state as a peaceful “exit” from broken systems - an alternative to revolution or war. • The thesis blends libertarian ideals with techno-optimism, emphasizing voluntary association and individual agency. ⚖️ Criticisms & Challenges • Scalability: Can such micro-nations grow without fragmenting society? • Legitimacy: Will traditional states ever recognise them? • Inclusivity: Could they become elitist or exclusionary? • Security & Stability: How do they handle law enforcement, defense, or global crises? Balaji’s vision is bold, controversial, and deeply rooted in crypto culture. Whether or not it materialises, it’s already reshaping how people think about sovereignty, citizenship, and community. 🌐🔗 image

Soon, 1 #bitcoin will be worth more than a house. Considering it takes the average person / family about 20-30 years to pay off their mortgage, when 1 BTC becomes worth more than a house, people will regret not taking action to learn and educate themselves and their families about it. And then taking the action after doing isthikara (consulting God for spiritual guidance) and ishtishara (mutual consultation with experts, family & friends), to protect their families from the coming tsunami of ribawi (usurious) debt destruction. image

Real-World Problems Bitcoin Can Solve #Bitcoin isn't just about numbers on a screen. It's a tool that can solve real problems, especially for those most in need. In the book, Adam and Layla discover how Bitcoin can be a force for good. Here are a few examples: 1. Fighting Inflation: Remember Adam's shrinking pocket money? The "Inflation Monster" is real for billions. With its fixed supply, Bitcoin offers a way to save and protect purchasing power from being eroded by governments printing endless money. 2. Banking the #Unbanked: Billions of people don't have access to banks. As Baba explains, all you need for Bitcoin is a basic phone and internet. You can be your own bank, receive money from family abroad, and participate in the global economy. 3. Censorship Resistance: For people living under oppressive regimes with strict capital controls, #Bitcoin provides a way to own and move their wealth freely, empowering individuals against unfair authority. "#BITCOIN IS #HALAL" explores these powerful use cases. Order it now on Amazon! #SoundMoney #HumanRights #BitcoinSaves #Unbanked #FinancialInclusion

Why and How #Bitcoin is #Halal "So, is Bitcoin actually Halal?" This is the big question Adam asks his Baba, and it's the core of our book! It's not a simple yes/no. It's about looking at Bitcoin's design through the lens of Islamic principles. Let's explore the "Halal Checklist"! ✅ The "Halal Checklist" we explore in the book includes: 1️⃣ No Riba: As an asset, it doesn't generate interest. 2️⃣ Sound Money/Scarcity: With a fixed supply of 21 million, it's like digital gold, resisting inflation and aligning with the Islamic principle of preserving wealth. 3️⃣ Transparency: The blockchain is a public diary! All transactions are verifiable, promoting honesty. 4️⃣ Property Rights: "Your keys, your coins." Bitcoin gives you true ownership and sovereignty over your wealth, a key objective of Shari'ah. 5️⃣ Financial Inclusion (Adl): It's open to anyone, anywhere, promoting financial justice. While how it's used matters (avoiding gambling/Maysir), Bitcoin's core design ticks many boxes. "BITCOIN IS HALAL" helps your family explore these principles in a fun, accessible way. Grab your guide to this crucial discussion on Amazon! #IslamicFinance #MuslimKids #Halal #BitcoinIsHalal #DigitalGold

How to Introduce Your Children to Bitcoin Want to teach your kids about #Bitcoin but don't know where to start? It can feel intimidating! "BITCOIN IS HALAL" provides a step-by-step family journey. Here's the approach: #BitcoinForKids #ParentingTips Step 1: Start with "What IS #Money?" Before diving into tech, the book starts with the basics: bartering, #gold, and fiat money (like Adam's shrinking pocket money). This builds a crucial foundation. Step 2: Use Simple Analogies. We explain complex ideas simply. • #Blockchain = A giant, public diary 📖 • Private Key = Your super-secret house key 🔑 • #Mining = Solving hard puzzles for a reward 🧩 Step 3: Get Hands-On (Safely!). The "Our First Satoshis" chapter shows Baba giving Adam & Layla a tiny amount to learn with. This makes it real! Step 4: Teach Responsibility. Finally, we cover the rules: security, DYOR, and avoiding scams! Our book is the perfect guide for this journey. Find "BITCOIN IS HALAL" on Amazon! #BitcoinEducation #FamilyLearning image

While #Bitcoin is fundamentally an internet-native protocol, there are clever ways to use it without direct internet access. Here are some of the most promising methods: 📡 1. Satellite Communication - Blockstream Satellite broadcasts the Bitcoin #blockchain from space. - Users can receive blockchain data with a satellite dish and USB receiver — no internet required. - You can pair this with a transaction-sending method (like SMS or radio) to go fully offline. 📶 2. SMS-Based Transactions - Services like #Machankura in #Africa allow users to send and receive Bitcoin via basic mobile phones using USSD/SMS. - This is ideal for areas with cellular coverage but no internet. - Typically custodial, but useful for accessibility and education. 📻 3. Radio Transmission - Developers have successfully sent Bitcoin transactions over HF radio across thousands of kilometers. - This method uses tools like JS8Call or LoRa to encode and transmit signed transactions. - It’s slow and requires technical setup, but it’s censorship-resistant and resilient. 🌐 4. Mesh Networks - Devices connect directly to each other (peer-to-peer) without internet, forming a local mesh. - Projects like goTenna and Locha Mesh have explored this for Bitcoin. - Transactions hop between nodes until they reach one with internet access to broadcast. 🧠 5. Sneakernet (Physical Transfer) - You can sign a transaction offline and transfer it via USB stick, QR code, or even paper to a device with internet. - This is useful in high-security or air-gapped environments. Each method has trade-offs in latency, privacy, and reliability, but they all reinforce Bitcoin’s resilience, and empowers communities with limited connectivity. image

🔥 BOYCOTT RIBA isn’t just a slogan - it’s a movement. #Bitcoin is more than digital money. It’s a global Anti-Riba Protocol. Here’s why: 1. At its core, Riba is the exploitation of time through debt - charging interest on loans regardless of risk or effort. It fuels inequality, endless growth of debt, and systemic injustice. It's forbidden in Islam and criticised across faiths. 2. Fiat money, created by central banks, enables Riba. When money can be printed endlessly, those closest to the money printer gain at the expense of everyone else. Inflation silently robs people - especially the poor. 3. Bitcoin flips the script. With a fixed supply of 21 million, it cannot be inflated. No central authority. No bailouts. No debt-fueled growth. It levels the playing field between rich and poor, lender and borrower. 4. There’s no such thing as "interest-bearing Bitcoin." You can’t mint more of it, and nobody gets privileged access. Bitcoin rewards transparency, time preference, and real effort - not manipulation. 5. In Bitcoin, profit comes from trade, not usury. Value is earned, not extracted. That’s the spirit of anti-Riba: mutual benefit, shared risk, and moral accountability. 6. In a world drowning in debt, Bitcoin offers a lifeboat - backed not by promises, but by cryptographic truth and economic justice. 7. If you care about an ethical economy—one without exploitation or compounding injustice - learn about #Bitcoin. It’s not just halal. It’s hope. 🌍 image

I love these grass roots projects. May God guide them and bless them. Our African brothers and sisters are crushing it. They are truly inspirational. They focus on solving real world problems. Things people can relate to. In the end, everyone wins. Too many times, we end up building stuff and then struggle trying to find 'problems for a solution'. When it should be the other way round. We need to focus on the problem space first and spend time understanding it. image
