GM. ☦️ Woe to those who are rich, who are full, who laugh, and who are praised. But good shall come to those who endure every wrongful accusation, beating, robbery, or compulsory difficulty. This is completely opposite to what people usually think and feel! The thoughts of God are as far from human thoughts as heaven is from the earth. How else could it be? We are in exile; and it is not remarkable for those in exile to be offended and insulted. We are under a penance; the penance consists of deprivations and labors. We are sick; and most useful for the sick are bitter medicines. The Savior Himself all of His life did not have a place to lay His head, and He finished his life on the cross — why should his followers have a better lot? The Spirit of Christ is the spirit of preparedness to suffer and bear good-naturedly all that is sorrowful. ☦️St. Theophan the Recluse

"Today the devil has three tentacles: For the poor—Communism; For Christian believers—Ecumenism; And for the rich— (Free) Masonry!” ☦️ St. Paisios the Athonite (Orthodox Spiritual Teachings from the Holy Elders - Words II: Spiritual Awakening)

The Lord left us ignorant of the ordering of many things in this world, meaning it is not necessary for us to know—we cannot compass all creation with our minds. But the Creator Himself of heaven and earth and every created thing gives us to know Him in the Holy Spirit. ☦️Saint Silouan the Athonite image

The Church Fathers consistently teach that the Roman Empire, and the Orthodox monarchies that arose from that Empire, is the Katechon, the restrainer of the Antichrist mentioned by the Apostle Paul in 2 Thessalonians, Chapter 2. (See: Saint John Chrysostom’s Fourth Homily On 2 Thessalonians, Saint Jerome’s Letter To Algasia and Saint Augustine’s City Of God) In the 19th century, Saint Theophan The Recluse said of the Antichrist: "he will not appear as long as royal authority remains in force. It will not allow him to develop, it will hinder his acting in his own spirit. This, then, is the "one who holds back" (II Thess. 2:7). But when royal authority falls, and the people everywhere institute self-government (republics, democracies), then there will be room for the Antichrist to act.” If they were right, then any political theory that denigrates monarchy and glorifies democracies and republics, is enabling the Antichrist. It demonstrates the Prayer Of The American: “God, I thank you that I am not like that European over there, ruled by monarchical tyrants. I thank you that you have given us a Republic based on freedom, etc.” is pharisaical and perverse, downright ghastly. Christ is a King, not a president, prime minister, or secretary general. -thus us from Michael Stefan on substack.

“No other religion has affirmed so much and so strongly as Christianity, because its voice is the Voice of God, and its Truth is absolute; and no other religion has had so radical and uncompromising an enemy as Nihilism, for no one can oppose Christianity without doing battle with God Himself”- Nihilism, pg. 69 image

From #DeathToTheWorld Saint Justina, who was from Damascus, lived in virginity for the sake of Christ. Saint Cyprian, who was from Antioch, began as an initiate of magic and worshipper of the demons. A certain foolish young man who had been smitten with Justina's beauty hired Cyprian to draw her to love him; when Cyprian had used every demonic device he knew, and had failed, being repulsed by the power of Christ Whom Justina invoked, he understood the weakness of the demons and came to know the truth. Delivered from demonic delusion, he came to Christ and burned all his books of magic, was baptized, and later ascended the episcopal throne in his country. Later, he and justina were arrested by the Count of Damascus, and having endured many torments at his hands, they were sent finally to Diocletian in Nicomedia, where they were beheaded about the year 304. In these days of occultism, transhumanism, and apostasy, we ask their protection and intercessions, that we may come to know true freedom as members of the Body of Christ. For a deeper dive into these themes, explore EK NEKRON: A Death to the World podcast with Fr. John Valadez.
