I see the czech guy again and he doesn’t have white socks in his sandals (he is sitting at the next table). Does that mean he is a spy? :)

We are in a hotel full of mostly French tourists, with some Germans, Czechs and Slovaks. During one dinner my wife told me “look at that man, he looks Czech to me”, I asked her “why”, she replied “he is drinking beer and has a big belly, not like those slim French guys drinking wine”. Later we heard him say something and yep, my wife was correct :). #crete #greece #czech #wifeisalwaysright

None of our friends recommend Crete (nor our doctor) because of strong winds (I think the best time to come here is second half of august), but this is our second time in Crete (last year we went to Malia) and we love it here. Weather is great (no strong winds), food is great, wine also :), people are friendly, there is a lot of history to see and I also love the view of mountains south of the sea. Prices are good, restaurants are as expensive as in Bratislava (or less), much less than in High Tatras. The only thing we miss here is a good coffee, but we can manage it :) image

Is there any Linux laptop manufacturer that makes laptops as good as MacBooks (screen, sound, battery life)? I have a MacBook Pro 15” 2018, I’m planing an upgrade in the next year. Normally I would wait for M3 Max, but I was thinking about returning to Linux (I used Gentoo and Ubuntu in 2003-2008), but I can’t find anything with a good large and bright screen, great speakers and 10+ hours of battery life. I’ve checked System76, Tuxedo and Slimbook.
