It's going to be interesting watching prompt injection play out in the AI space. I wonder what the first really big breach will be...
I'm curious... Is there a NIP for setting the language your posts are in/showing only posts in a specific language?
Lol. I can't access the DVSA website from my boring, extension-free web browser, on a UK net connection with no VPN. But my booking script works fine. Their "security" is a joke and is penalizing honest people :/
So, Grammarly has gone woke. Anyone got any suggestions for a decent alternative? Happy to pay for a tool that works and doesn't push propaganda.
I'm reinstalling my PiHole. Briefly had to just surf without it. Wow, I don't know how people can be bothered to use the web without decent tracker and add blocking
So far my "nostr on Linux phones" experiment isn't going well. Yeah you can run android clients with Waydroid but if I wanted to do that I'd be using an Android phone.... But none of the Linux desktop ones will compile for me on PostMarketOS. Guess that's an idea for a new project...
Docker's new policies are punishing open source projects. This is a good explanation. Only thing I disagree with is the suggestion to move to GitHub. Not sure I'd trust them either given they banned some crypto projects last year. It's time self-hosting came back into fashion.
Not crypto but self hosting.... Anyone use Emby? I run Plex. Keep trying to leave but Jellyfin isn't quite mature enough in my opinion. Too many stability issues and it seems to not get on with a lot of encoding formats. Curious if Emby is better (or there's something else I am overlooking)
Just had a Rust developer take my using the words "low level" to be an insult. What are they teaching people these days 🤯😬
Anyone here use Rocky Linux? I used to be a huge CentOS fan. I'm on Ubuntu Server these days and finally snapped (pun half-intended). Kinda don't mind having to build everything yourself (usually do that anyway), but I do want a reliable and stable ecosystem.
I'm a fan of the Fediverse. I think it serves a different role to Nostr and it's still valid. Facebook working on activitypub is worrying. Embrace, extend, extinguish has been the model of the big tech companies since the 90s. Everyone I know outside of f(l)oss and coiner circles can't get their heads around Mastodon OR Nostr, and both platforms have a long way to go before they're user friendly to people who don't actively want to avoid "the algorithm". I'm not sure what the answer is. On the one hand, people getting off Facebook and onto an Activitypub platform is a step forward. On the other, it's a bit of a Trojan horse. I don't want to be on any instance that connects to them... I'm curious what other instance admins / users plan on doing...
