We wrapped up the guiding season with a frosty finish to our Dark Sky Festival Event yesterday. We'll follow our grizzly bear friends and start to hibernate (at least until ski season starts). Back from a great day trip yesterday in the Robson Valley up to Colley Lakes (above the Porcupine Cabin). Great ridgecrest hiking and wide reaching views after clambering up the rocky route! We were helping out with a volunteer repair project this week at the Ralph Forster Hut on Mount Robson. Built in 1970, this is a mountaineers hut for parties climbing Mount Robson, and a spectacular place worthy of preserving. Thanks to all involved, hopefully the hut will be a shelter to climbers for years to come! #BCParks #Valemount #MountRobson #11000ers

Yesterday the Berg Lake Trail in Mount Robson Provincial Park re-opened fully for the first since 2021. Well done BC Parks with great new bridges, re-routes, and other upgrades to this awesome area! Always a striking difference this time of year between the teal glacial water of the mighty Athabasca River and the non-glacially fed Miette River.
