I estimate this bridge saves me about 30 hours this winter, compared to hauling the logs over the next closest bridge. It will also save me about 30 minutes every time I move the cows from one side of the stream to the other, which is four times a year. Thats 2 more hours. It cost me 4500NOK to build, so I will only have to net 141NOK per hour just the next year to break even. What I just described is called capitalism, and it’s awesome. View quoted note →
Finished with the second forest plot for the year. Bridge building next up, and then wait for some minus degrees and snow before I start hauling it out💪 image
I got lucky this time… Next time I’m punching it into steel just in case.
The day could have started better. Rip the minihouse🙏😓
SOLD OUT! Thanks to all the wonderful people that have made our debut year with freerange pigs a dream. We are now completely sold out of pig meat, two weeks before christmas. The boar is back at it though, and hopefully next years heritage hybrids will be even tastier than this years. We will also have a new forest area for them to dig up, fertilize and transform to cow pasture come spring. Stay tuned for the pig project 2.0!
Few things can stop this winch from the 1970s💪💪💪
This cow is about to wean off two 8 month old calfs who’s almost as large as herself. I expected them to be smaller than the other calfs since they had to share the titties, but it turns out this cow is a beast and just ramps up milk production🥛💦 She has also been keeping a good consition herself on ONLY grass. More cows like this please! image
Celebrating 1M NOK Bitcoin with making a few more square meters of pastures for the cows.
Doing an extra pig meat delivery round in the Oslo area on saturday evening. Send me a DM if you want some based forest pork delivered on the door😎🐷 image
Pork deliveries going out on sunday. Give me a shout if you live in Norway and want to get hold of some! #bitcoin accepted! image
Butchered an entire bull on the farm today together with 13 other food entusiasts. What a pleasure to share the joy of great food and learn new skills alongside likeminded people. Look forward to repeating it next year! And of course to enjoy the fruits of todays labor every day until then🥩😋
The season’s last cow move. A few tons heavier than when we started. Ready to repeat next year. Onwards🫡
