I'm currently working here, if the ship's log is confusing:

I attended the 1999 O'Reilly Open Source convention. I remember the A/V crew queued up the #GratefulDead #deal when somebody from Sun spoke (McNealy?). I was puzzled about the politics. I had a beer near Larry Wall in a tent (but he had no idea I was there). I got Allman to sign my Sendmail book.
Based on the interest of Tom Murphy of UCSD, I am reading #Ishmael by #DanielQuinn along with three other friends of mine spread out across the time zones of the United States. We are meeting online to discuss the book and Murphy's outlines in two months. Our group is set, but I can interact here.
That time I made ash filters for the #MountStHelens eruption

I updated noidentity.dev to the new graph format. I decided to postpone the #nostr compatible schema for now, at least on this site. The demo I made last month that shows three collaborative consoles running works the same:
I searched for decent data flow diagram videos and reviewed ten or so. Yawn. Tedious. They don't get at the most important part: the change in perspective of the people participating in the system. I gained that perspective talking to stakeholders. It shares the magic with #KnowledgeGraphs.
When strangers passing by on my walk say the equivalent of "How are you?", I instinctively respond "Hi". If walking is paused, I might say "good". I thought about this on my walk yesterday, and what I might say otherwise. "Not so good. I've seen more rabbits this year than honey bees.".
I remember the IP address of the DNS server of my first ISP in 1995. I haven't had it written down in decades. I would use my copy of the Linux Bible and a copy of Slackware that came with it to connect over PPP. I tried it just now. Recursion isn't allowed, but it still resolves their servers.
My combined material and data flow models loosely overlay and are inspired by some fiction I wrote called TKitty (Terminator Kitty). Kor is a lizard advisor to Tkitty as it becomes a cyborg for good. This spread into other fiction, including ORNG itself.

I can see why humans take the smaller leaps. Facing the issues #TomMurphy raises in this installment is very difficult. For me, this is exactly the paradigm we need to let go of (referencing #DonellaMeadows leverage points #1).
MM #12: Human Supremacy | Do the Math
If I thought we had a future with nodes sprinkled around the globe that validated cryptoX transactions, I would be more interested in the comparison of proof of work vs. proof of stake. My-o-my, there are some great minds on either side of that, building #cypherpunk utopias. I offer: #CarbonPulse
Watch the reflections: mind, culture, memes, biosphere, dreams, memory, trauma, generations. Watch the way the light curves through and back. It is not domain-specific. The characteristics work across all. Form a hypothesis. You'll see it play out.
We don't talk about #LauraRidingJackson enough, and how she ditched #poetry for #ontology and wrote about it #OffGrid. #WhiteGoddess #RobertGraves #TheTelling #RationalMeaning #LauraJackson #LauraRiding
In addition to resisting scruffy ontologies, idealists/technologists tend to avoid scruffy flows. Often, as #AtulGawande will attest, all most need is a checklist. Think of tactical, quick to build maps more like a checklist mind map, not a structural solution. This is human focused, not tech.
As I figure out how to make individual graphs more stand-alone with levels as part of the SVG, it is good to stress the disconnect between perspective. I'm way on the scruffy side of ontologies, to use #BarrySmith 's term. This is because when humans think of systems, they think of it at their level.
#JemBendell was the first integrated leader in the #polycrisis #metacrisis #collapse areas that I followed. He helped me integrate my own perspectives and experiences. Later, I would focus more on culture. My only variance, is that I believe there is a double bind within our culture when communicating about these issues. From that perspective, we need to learn to walk away. Personally, I focus on post-collapse tools. We will have many opportunities (not just one).
My-o-my, how we get stuck in our own swamp. I've insisted on a box that acts as title, description, and key at the bottom;however, most screens have a surplus of horizontal space, particularly for graphs. It makes more sense to stick a path-stack and notes on the left, with narrative on the bottom.
There is an interesting schism in the #collapse #doomer social media world. Somebody who considers themselves a black hat doomer sees the world something like the bus scene in Sid and Nancy. Any perceived form of hope or seeding a better future is like the "i wanna job" guy.
When I do get to my demo, after defining ๐ซ and ๐ท (no schema and no identity), it gets a bit weird. It is "no" schema, because it facilitates collaboration without a focus on identity, or even a focus on protocol, yet protects from the #highwayman problem. I also run nonic.org.
