Nothing like sharing a common space to build community. 🔅 That’s why every first Wednesday of the month, the crypto community can now enjoy a free coworking day at the @Commons Hub Brussels (just in front of Brussels central station, so easy access from Amsterdam, Paris, London, …) 🎟️ Book your spot: We’ll end the day with a happy hour and the regular Crypto Wednesday meetup.

On fighting doom scrolling. "Your brain loves consuming. it gives you the illusion of progress without the discomfort of action." When you learn something, reflect what it means to you and how you can use it. Daily practice: - what did I learn today? - why does this matter to me? - what will I do differently?

International gathering of local currencies October 27-28 in Bordeaux. If we want ecash to reach beyond the tech bubble, we need to be there. There are more than 5,000 local currencies in Europe alone. Mostly led by citizen initiatives that have little to no tech background. They could use our help (when they have a digital version, they are still stuck with cyclos.org) More info: https://drive.monnaies-locales.org/s/kyeB4fYWEanJDFL/download/Programme%20-%20EMLC.pdf

Off we go for a two-week trip across France, Switzerland, Austria and Italy to go meet different commons and eco-villages. Curious to learn more about how other communities manage their commons!

👴🏻 We live in a world where our elders have to learn AI and our youngsters want to become life coaches 🤷‍♀️ We got this upside down 🙃 We need our elders to be life coaches and mediators. They have so much more lived experiences. They have more time and are more patient. 🤖 And we need our youngsters to embrace AI and explore what else is possible. They have much less to unlearn. They are more likely to discover new opportunities. That’s why we need multigenerational communities. It takes a village.

It can be frustrating to not feel supported by the community when we do something. Ask yourself: would I do this if nobody would join me? If the answer is no, don’t do it. The community cannot be the driving force. That’s your job. People will join once they see something happening that they want to be part of.

With AI, you need to replace your SEO team with a documentation team. Great opportunity for journalists and other people who love writing.

So many people marching in Brussels for Palestine 🇵🇸 This has a feeling of the marches against the war in Iraq in 2003 back when Colin Powell shared fabricated lies about their weapons of mass destruction program. Like the US then, Israel is the wrong side of history. Fellow Israeli friends, you are smart educated people. Dare to speak up against your own government. You deserve better.

Heroku is down for more than 12 hours. With that, I moved openletter.earth (a side project that people keep on using) to its own instance on Hetzner. Next step: move it to a Nostr backend to remove the need for a central server altogether.
