What if it was as easy to create a Nostr Relay as creating a new WhatsApp group? Each relay would basically be an outbox where you post copies of your signed messages based on the group you want to reach. 📤 You could have a relay for yourself (as a backup and to sync all your devices), multiple public relays for censorship resistant free speech, and a relay for each of the communities you are part of, each with their own access rules. What do you think? Wouldn’t that help keep Nostr decentralized? Wouldn’t that be easier to implement than group encryption mechanisms (though one doesn’t prevent the other). Anyone already working on that? #asknostr image

Lots of updates on TxInfo.xyz - support for combo tags #key:value and #[key:value with spaces] - live updates - support for ENS names and avatars - add a name / picture to your Nostr profile - easily import your own nsec You can support the development by making a small donation on Gitcoin before April 17th https://explorer.gitcoin.co/#/round/42161/867/129 (Zapping this note works too, but with Gitcoin your donation will be multiplied by the matching fund dedicated to support digital commons). Also looking for contributors to add support for bitcoin transactions, filtering by tag and creating a Sankey diagram and other charts using the tags 📊 Would also be good to allow people to only submit metadata to custom relays for privacy (and/or encrypt) 🔐 As a user, I should be able to control with whom I want to share my notes (Google Docs style). Please tag a developer below this note. 👨‍💻 image

After the yin fighting for the yin (woke movement), we now have the yang fighting for the yang (maga). Can’t wait to go through this period to find a new equilibrium on the other side where the yang (competition, the market, performance) can be of service of the yin again (public goods, care, education, beauty) and vice versa ☯️ Till then, be kind to yourself and to each other. Don’t burn out, don’t burn cars neither.

Is Swarm App finally giving up? (I’ve been using this app (formerly known as Foursquare) for 15 years! Best way to journal places I go to. When a Nostr version? image

Been working on this for the past weeks. Feedback welcome! #askNostr 👉 Add metadata to any blockchain address or transaction using Nostr. In particular, see this first issue regarding the kind to use: (This is a first prototype, not production ready, use at your own risk)

Let me contribute. Civilizations eventually die under the weight of their own administration. We become so fearful of any abuse, that we end up adding more and more regulations, and new administrations to control their application. Today, our technical debt —or admin debt— is so big that we have an army of people, paid by our tax money, not to create value but to get in the way of the people who try to. The first person we had to hire for the @commonshub_bxl is someone who ends up spending half her time doing admin. It’s crazy. Then we also pay an external person to do the accounting. And now someone else, at the administration, is paid to verify that we did it all properly. One economic transaction, 3 people paid to ensure proper reporting. Crazy. The only way out: open source everything. Instead of putting the burden on entrepreneurs, put the burden on the community. That’s how the Internet grew. eBay, YouTube’s biggest realization was the idea that you should let anyone share. Every friction point should be removed. Instead, enable the community to flag bad behaviors and abuse. Trust by default and empower the community to quickly react whenever needed. What if our administration would work the same way? Contributing to society, to the community should be as easy as contributing to Wikipedia. Let people opt in to start an open source organization. All financial transactions would be open for everyone to see. In exchange, the administration stays out of your way. No paperwork, no reporting. They just send the bill for paying your fair share (also in a transparent way for everyone to see). I’m not intro entrepreneurship to become rich. I don’t have a car, I stopped flying, I don’t need much. I just want to solve problems, create value, contribute. Let me contribute.
