I used to fight inequalities. It sounds great but I came to realize that it makes no sense.
Inequality is everywhere in nature.
We need to embrace nature.
We need to embrace inequality.
We are only unequal if you compare us on a single dimension (usually money). But we are multidimensional beings.
So being against inequality only makes sense in a world that has been reduced to money, incapable of seeing and acknowledging the beauty of life in all its dimensions.
So I’m not fighting inequalities anymore. I’m fighting a world that has been reduced to a single currency, a single way to contribute to gain capital.

Still looking for the perfect blogging platform.
Anyone interested to build that with Nostr?

Gm Brussels

Remember when we used to send SMS at midnight and they would take hours to arrive?
This is how Brussels is welcoming you after you get out of central station 😔
It’s in front of the Commons Hub so we took some buckets, trash picking sticks and we got to work.
Thank you Jeremy for your help!

What’s your favorite bitcoin wallet that provides a good tradeoff between UX and security / recovery?
Should we also do a meetup in Brussels? We could use the Commons Hub for that (in front of central station). Would there be anyone interested?

I’m actually excited for the much needed changes that Trump and Elon Musk are going to bring to the US.
I’m very aware that it’s quite politically incorrect to say in Europe but I’m a free citizen. You can’t fire me. So here I said it. You can block me or unfollow me.
If you are intellectually curious though, read on.
I would never have voted for Donald. I can’t get behind his rhetoric and his style. He crossed the line too many times for me. And I’m very sad that we have to reach a point where such polarizing person is what it takes to finally take a big turn. But here we are.
See, we are at a fork in the road. Everybody is asking for change, but nobody really wants it. “We want change but not that way”. Well, sorry folks, but this is not how change works.
Change is very uncomfortable. It makes us lose our points of reference. We feel lost, until we finally wake up, get back to our senses, and start building again what will become the new points of reference, the new institutions that will be much more adapted to this changing world.
So it’s time to embrace change. It’s time to reconnect with nature. It’s time to reconnect with seasons, moon cycles, genders and the role we are supposed to play in society. It’s time to build.
So I won’t join people complaining about every move that Elon and Donald are gonna take. It’s too easy to criticize from the bench.
I will, however, very much support the builders that will come after the mess they will inevitably create. The citizens that will recreate a new order, the ones that will take care of the most vulnerable and make sure that we leave no one behind. The ones that will recreate the commons and local communities. The new institutions that will give every one of us a sense of belonging and mattering.
There is no time to waste. Let Elon and Donald do their thing. We’ll do ours.
Onwards, citizen 🚀

We got the design of our mobile wallets wrong 📲
They focus on transactions.
They should focus instead on the relationships we are forging with each of those transactions.
I just went to our Indian restaurant next door to pick up some food.
When I pay, I want them to see the history of our relationship, not just the status of this last transaction.
This would incentivize everyone to build long term relationships instead of short term transactions.

Moving from efficiency 📈 to resilience 🔅
From corporations 👔, to startups 👟, to communities 🌻.
From CEOs 👨🏻💼, to cofounders 👬 to stewards 👫.
We have become independent from one another, but hyper dependent on millions of strangers thousands of miles away. We are connected to a global network 🌍, but disconnected from our own local network 🌳.
Time to rebuild our social tissue, our resilience. Because community is immunity.
Key insight: to forge more relationships within the network, we need to introduce new currencies to acknowledge & reward other kinds of contributions 💧🔥 ☯️
That’s why we need #web3, the new Internet of currencies.

🇪🇺 Europe wants Kamala to win.
🇷🇺 Russia wants Trump to win.
🇺🇸 America is deciding today 🗳️

Reality check:
Most presidents and governments only represent a minority of citizens.

Excited to bring Open Collective to web3, the OG platform to fund open source communities.
Please give it a warm welcome 🤗

Next up, Nostr? What is it that you need to organize and fund Nostr communities?

I remember seeing job posting with crazy salaries. Recipe for attracting the wrong profiles. Movements start with believers, not with employees.
