not sure about others but my happiness and fulfillment is strongly correlated to productivity and how much forward progress i am making. When i am not productive i spiral into dopamine boosters like doomscrolling, alcohol… but these are empty calories and will never hit the same as ripping out 2000 lines of code in a few days.
