GM nostr I'm running a workshop today & tomorrow to get the ball rolling for a multi year initiative that, if successful, will help keep existing US nuclear plants open longer. This is probably my last shot at establishing new risk-informed applications for the operating fleet. 🫡 Goal: Leverage the basic concepts used in NEI 18-04 to extend the range of risk-informed applications that can be used to optimize the operation of the Generation II fleet. Focus: Establish a frequency-consequence framework acceptable for use in Generation II nuclear power plants that is based on the NEI 18-04 approach and define frequency-consequence thresholds that would allow for risk-informed applications for non-core damage sequences.
