Hard times make strong men is a partial truth. Hard times are (probably) necessary but not sufficient. There a plenty of people who have had hard times and come out the other end virtueless cunts.

All I want from social media is to be bombarded with information that nudges my mental model in the direction of the global optimum. Is that so hard to achieve?
