I came across quite a hair-raising meme today on the Big Evil Book of Faces today. A distant friend-of-a-friend posted this one here. Yikes. It's rare I chime in on things that really don't hold a candle, but I was feeling festive and decided to give 'em a good reply. Normie platform, so a short concise reply. How'd I do? --- This one is kinda funny to me! I totally respect yer opinion, and I'm not an internet kermudgen who's gonna refute yer claim here, but we have the exact opposite opinion on the matter. I'm gonna lean in and share my opinion, a rare event these days lol. Please forgive me. Gasoline requires constant harvest, refinement, and sale through an industrial complex. Sale of oil / petrol takes place in the US dollar because of the Bretton Woods Agreement (now in turmoil because of the BRICS alliance; oil is probably going to become much more expensive, inflation aside). With a single solar array, you're harvesting your own power, and with a battery-powered vehicle, you've got *part* of a recipe for self-reliance; battery and panel replacement aside, it is a much surer bet for freedom than reliance on the industrial complex surrounding oil. The Bretton Woods Agreement also set the US fiat dollar as the global reserve currency, setting us up for a century of macroeconomics, which has put our Earth into an insane place where (among many things) the cash in our pocket loses value every single day, requiring investment in alternative assets as opposed to holding cash to outpace inflation. The US dollar is not a scarce asset, and is continually losing value. Digital fiat is just an insane adjustment to an insane system. Actually-scarce, non-inflatable, non-central currency has led to golden ages among humanity in the past; I won't be trying to convince anyone of the fact since there's excellent material available out there already that does a much better job. Try "The Bitcoin Standard" by Saifedean Ammous for a general take on the subject (biased toward Bitcoin for very good reason). Hope that's interesting, at the very least!
