There are few things that I think are assymetrically important to understand right now. Bitcoin and Phish are two. For bitcoiners, Phish is especially important because the birth and evolution of the scene provides insight on longevity and focus within a free market of ideas and individual expression.

Great practical home mining advice, Jon. Well into my 3rd decade as a mechanical engineer (we are indeed getting old!), over engineering anything is a big pet peeve of mine and I beat that mental model into my teams. Gall’s Law comes to mind: always start simple and only add complexity once you have high confidence in the foundational design or setup. Ego has no place in a designer’s thinking if a system needs to ‘just work’. I also heat simply shunt any excess heat in my space with a thermostat controlled damper. As for Jack, the modular design is cool but unproven in the field.
