Leftists usually attack identity. It doesn't matter if it's age, ethnicity, culture, philosophy, intellect, or background. I've noticed they tend to attack the foundation of a person, as if breaking down individuality is the only way to achieve equality. Perhaps because they see identity as a barrier to collective progress. Instead of embracing the soverign individual, a person who is responsible for and defined by their own choices.
