The move has been met with criticism from developers and web advocates, who argue that it stifles innovation and gives Apple too much control over the app ecosystem. Apple, however, maintains that the decision is necessary to protect user privacy and security.
It is important to note that this change only applies to the EU region. PWAs will continue to function normally in other parts of the world.
