I have a (probably stupid) #nostr business idea, but I have no money, and two kids so I can’t just do it. Who should I talk to?

When normies ask you what Nostr is, how do you explain it? Whatever I’m saying isn’t working.

One thing Twitter is still better than Nostr at is breaking news. I could imagine an app focused on that though. I wonder if/when the first big story will be broken on Nostr instead of Twitter.

One year ago I was a frustrated lover of Bitcoin, I didn’t know what to do. I’ve been learning about Bitcoin and Lightning for years. I was even at the meetup where this was introduced: https://lightning.network/lightning-network-paper.pdf But still, I didn’t know what to do. I desperately wanted to do SOMETHING. I spent years of my free time learning all about Bitcoin, mining, transactions, segwit, Lightning, etc. Still, I didn’t know how I could add to anything. What could I contribute? I’m not that smart. I can’t do cryptography well. I know a lot about Bitcoin but there’s nothing new I think needs to be added. Lightning was another chance to be at the vanguard but I wasn’t good enough to contribute on that level. Then, after years of feeling on the outside of something I love I decided to go to BTC Miami. I don’t know what it’s actually called. When I was there I just wanted so bad to be a part of one of these awesome projects. When people asked me what I did. All I could say was that I love Bitcoin and I want to help. A lot of people feel that way I think. But, since then I made it a goal of mine to do SOMETHING, ANYTHING that contributes to the thing I love. That was Nostr. Specifically Damus. I finally found something I could do. It’s not a huge contribution but I feel like I’m finally in the arena. I have a foothold on something that I can work on. I feel so grateful that we have Bitcoin, it attracted the kind of people that would create Nostr. Thank you. If you’re like me, just keep looking. It will happen. You can contribute, you’re valuable. Just find you’re spot 💜

It really seems like this thing is working. Very unexpected. Did we figure it out?

#nostr, #damus, #lightning re-ignited my love for programming. When you don’t need to ask permission it’s just fun again. Thank you all! Esp. #[3] image

Why is it so hard to figure out what the bitcoin block height was at a certain time? There must be a site for this…

I don’t know if this is sad or not but I almost have more followers on #nostr than I do on Twitter after being there for 13 years or something. I guess I found my people 🤙

Periodic reminder, running your own relay is super easy. Took me literally 5 minutes. I used nostr-rs-relay. Just do it. At least for your own notes 🤙
