Got around to updating my mining setup: bitcoin-node-> pool_sv2 -> bitaxe This is _so_ much better than a year ago! A lot of engineering going into many different components to make this happen.

Scoreline doesn't flatter them, but Stormers did well with a half stacked crew.

The notion that the filter split wouldn't have happened with more alternative clients is ill-conceived. There are many alternative clients. To my knowledge exactly two of them (core and knots) allow significant policy tweaks. Exactly one of them filters aggressively.

One of my goals doing maintenance the past half year was trying to get through a lot of the pull request backlog. Managed to get through a good chunk of it, but the rest seems to require increasingly more effort. The project needs to find a better way to reward and surface good and dedicated reviewers. Review work is tedious, often boring, and not something that can be easily measured. This makes it hard to both surface to the public and for developers to build their prestige around it. I am curious how I can improve my leadership in this respect. I found the pull request review club not effective in this regard. The amount of effort spent on preparing it usually did not pay off. We need to find some way to better reward review.

Really didn't expect Bafana to pull through anymore.

Got rid of libevent. That leaves just the boost multi index headers as an external dependency for bitcoind.
