GM beautiful people of #nostr rant from public #tor #relay operator While nostr does work with tor, it can be a challenge to actuallly make it usable. The issue isn't speed, but rather the limited support for tor among clients and the need for an #outbox . #gossip with proxychains #amethyst's built-in tor. I'd love to know if there are others - I am haing hard time finding them Using #Start9 with #nostrudel works in the #torBrowser, but as far as I understand it does not do #outbox(?) Tor relays like #nerostrator work well, but only if both the sender and audience are using a tor (and #outbox). Running #haven on a torified system can help - it will #blastr notes to both clearnet and onion relays - it will find related notes on both too However, #blossom needs to run on clearnet for media to be visible, and DMs will only be received from tor users with outbox protocol unless subscribed to a clearnet relay. I hope Nostr will adopt #onionrouting as a standard soon and also stop handicapping tor relays by design. I will keep running #nerostrator even then; privately, anonymously and without a clearnet domain. What are your thoughts? #asknostr

#asknostr so #gossip works beautifully through #torsocks or #proxychains4 perfect so now I am lost and need help 1. gossip scans for relays (of interest) and tries to interact with them from #privacy standpoint - should I disable this option? or it should not matter - much? that's mostly on read side since #haven would take care to blast my posts to multiple relays anyway 2. if I am only on #tor relays and my only DM relay is onion I cannot securely DM with anyone that is not on tor, right? should we try to fix that?

so for #blossom if I post over #tor if somone runs on clearnet I would need to pick one that also have a clearnet exit? Or would it not work because link embedded in the note would point to #onion? #asknostr

the #nostr profile has build in integration with #BTC and #lightning which is great but should we not have NIP to add #monero #xmr to it? after all we are all about #privacy (at least some of us) #asknostr #grownostr
