6/14/2026 - Some more thoughts on Continuum ... ** Various Ways of Describing Continuum ** I was thinking more about Continuum tonight, and came up with a few different ideas. Not every description of Continuum emphasizes the same thing. These are different lenses describing the same underlying idea. These are different ways of looking at what I've been building over the last year. I hope these descriptions are helpful and will you make y'all think. Here goes ... --- ** Continuum as a Sovereign Workspace ** Continuum is a sovereign workspace where identity, signing, storage, and publishing remain under user control. Applications become interchangeable interfaces rather than permanent homes for identity. --- ** Continuum as Identity Infrastructure ** Users should not migrate identities between applications. Applications should connect to user-owned workspaces. --- ** Continuum as Local-First Software ** Continuum keeps identity and user state local-first. Cloud services may exist, but they are optional and should not become the source of truth. --- ** Continuum as an Interoperability Layer ** Continuum is not trying to replace clients. It explores how clients, signers, services, and applications can interoperate while preserving user control. --- ** Continuum as Portable Sovereignty ** Sovereignty is not choosing Linux over macOS or Windows (though I love Linux and Open Source) Sovereignty is keeping identity, data, and signing portable across all of these. --- ** Continuum as a Capability Platform ** Applications request capabilities. The workspace decides what to expose. Identity, signing, publishing, storage, and authentication are capabilities—not ownership transfers. --- ** Continuum as a Response to SaaS ** Most modern software asks users to create another account. Continuum asks whether accounts should belong to users instead. --- ** Continuum as a Nostr Extension ** Nostr decentralized the social graph. Continuum explores decentralizing the workspace. --- ** Continuum as a Long-Term Direction ** The application is temporary. The workspace is durable. The user is the constant. --- ** Continuum is not another client. ** ** It is the workspace behind the client. ** #Continuum #Nostr #Bitcoin #LocalFirst #SelfSovereignIdentity #OpenSource #DigitalSovereignty

6/14/2026 - Released v1.6.8.2 - June 14, 2026 today Theese are the highlights: 🔐 Remote signing enabled • Continuum identities can now participate in remote signing workflows • Added identity settings schema + editor support • Improved signer configuration and defaults • Browser extension support released separately 🧪 Testing + release improvements • Added pytest unit testing foundation • Added initial test coverage support • Added automated validation in release builds Small release, but an important step toward local-first identity + interoperable signing. #Continuum #Nostr #Bitcoin #SelfSovereignIdentity #OpenSource

Released the Continuum Browser Signing Extension as open source. Browser-based signing without tying identities to a specific browser profile. Use existing Nostr experiences while keeping identity management local-first. Not another client — trying to explore a different trust model. #nostr #opensource #bitcoin

6/12 - Would like to start posting articles and notes again — it's been a while. (I was very very prolific for a while but I have been adding a lot to Continuum over the last few weeks. I just want to publish again ... Here are a few topics I’d like to explore: • Continuum Is Not Another Nostr Client • Browser Extensions vs Mobile Signers • Why I Still Prefer Local-First Software • The Hidden Cost of SaaS Logins • What Bitcoin Conferences Get Wrong About Identity • Remote Signing Without Browser Lock-In • From Social Graphs to Service Graphs (just some ideas I have) #Nostr #Bitcoin #LocalFirst #DigitalSovereignty #Identity #SelfCustody #Continuum
