A study of nearly 2,000 children aged 9-10 found that those playing video games for three hours or more per day performed better on cognitive skills tests measuring impulse control and working memory compared to non-gamers. HA. This group also showed higher brain activity in regions linked to attention and memory during functional MRI scans. Me and my son right now 👇 (I'm just watching and preparing snacks though) I love homeschooling and unschooling. image

I'm a huge fan of this game: Thank God my son is a gamer. Any recommendations for story-adventure-survival-pc-games? 🥸

When my scheduled episodes list looks like this, I have proof that the discipline of the last weeks worked out. Even if it didn't feel like it on an every day base, the results speak for themselves. Had a talk today with my son about discipline, and the question: how do you know if "torturing" yourself here and there makes sense or if it' s a form of self-hate. 🤣 If it brings you closer to your goal, go for it. Everything else is unnecessary bullshit. image

My beloved car broke down. The only way to buy a new one at the moment is to spend Bitcoin. I decided, walking is a good option. I'll keep stacking sats. image

Maybe interesting for all the homeschooling and unschooling families in the US! This episode is all about changing things bottom up: Shaka Mitchell, a Senior Fellow at the American Federation for Children, champions school choice and child-led education. With experience at Rocketship Education and LEAD Public Schools, he previously worked at the Center for Education Reform and the Institute for Justice. A Belmont University graduate, he teaches American Government and Constitutional Law there and holds a Juris Doctorate from Wake Forest University. Mitchell is a TEDx Nashville speaker, hosts the Come Together Music Project podcast, and co-founded MoreMarrowDonors.org. He chairs the Tennessee State Advisory Committee to the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights and is involved with the American Enterprise Institute and Aspen Institute. Additionally, Ahaka frequently discusses education policy on platforms like Fox News. So, Shaka is doing a lot of things in a lot of different directions, but it's always one vision: freedom of education! Episode going live 10/1!

OECD/INFE Survey from 2024, coordinated by BaFin/Bundesbank (German Federal Bank): Approximately 20–30% have low financial literacy. What does the rest have? Super low financial literacy??? School education in Germany does not fully address financial literacy. Homeschooling, unschooling and worldschooling soves this. image

Currently reading Erich von Däniken with my son every night. It's all about how the extraterrestrials visited our Earth many millennia ago, fucked humans, fought against each other, and what we can gain from these information. You don't learn this in school, this is why unschooling, homeschooling or worldschooling is so important - you're taking full responsibility for your kids' education, keep them away from state indoctrination, and give them the opportunity to explore whatever they feel like. Check out Däniken's website, love this guy. Also looks like my grandpa, I like old people they're fucking cute: image

On the right side: The Chartres Cathedral labyrinth, dating back to the 13th century! This is a medieval design for spiritual reflection, supposedly symbolizing the journey to the divine. On the left side: The "Schumann Resonator" labyrinth coil, more or less modern electronic component to resonate at specific frequencies. I'd like to understand more about this connection, and I can't wait until we live in a world where our history and ancient knowledge is part of our Zeitgeist again. Unschooling, homeschooling and worldschooling is the way. image

Any worldschoolers on Nostr? Why worldschooling/unschooling/homeschooling just makes sense: Worldschooling’s all about diving into real-world, hands-on experiences to supercharge learning, and what I love most: better results, faster results than regular school (that’s not difficult to beat though). To me, efficiency means everything, because my time with my kid is limited, and I don’t want to miss out on 80% of his life because of school. From what I’ve seen, kids who are homeschooled or world-schooled often match or even crush it compared to traditional students, and they’re doing it in way less time. An individualized, decentralized approach to education is much more fun than school – and actually a real form of education and not indoctrination disguised as education. Approximately 2 million families worldwide are engaged in worldschooling or homeschooling while traveling, according to the National Home Education Research Institute (NHERI)! image
