Long term flip farm plan.
Start small.
One bred cow. Or a cow calf pair.
Paid for with hustle. Not hope.
Next year?
One more.
And the year after that?
One more.
Slowest ranch build in the world.
On purpose.
Because everything I’ve learned says this:
Fast money breaks.
Slow money breeds.
Stack cows.
Stack grass.
Stack discipline.
Ten year vision.
Forty more acres.
Cash flowed. Not wished for.
Brick by brick.
Hoof by hoof. 🐄🌾

Always looking for ways to plug the kids into the business.
Not busywork. Real work.
The other day they helped me sort patches. Counted them. Stacked them. Organized them.
They learned something simple but powerful: money doesn’t fall from the sky… it shows up when you show up.
Little hands.
Real responsibility.
Pride in a job done right.
That’s how you build work ethic. One job at a time. 💪

The gym has been my lifeline for years.
I’ve explored so many ways to tackle stress, anxiety, depression, grief and frustration but nothing beats the gym. It’s the most genuine, effective, and uplifting therapy I’ve discovered.
If you’re feeling overwhelmed or just want to level up your life, I can’t recommend finding the right gym strongly enough.
My favorite gym in the sandbox pictured below.

Driving by a closed fast food spot always makes me smile. Our small town just shut down two more finally cutting off the junk that’s harming our kids. Less fast food = healthier youth. Progress!

Averaging 8 packages a day for the first 50 days this year!

How many pounds of beef do you think we’ll get? 🥩🐄
Our first home-raised cow hung at 727 lbs, which puts the live weight around 1,200 lbs.
Freezer-fill day is getting close, and we’re excited to see the final take-home total!
Drop your guess below 👇

Update: My cow “Super” — yes, the kids named him, and yes… we still ate him. (Rule officially broken: don’t name the animals you plan to put in the freezer.)
Super is officially in freezer camp, and with that we’ve now successfully raised our own chickens, pigs, and beef. Watching the full circle of hard work, care, and food on the table happen right here at home is a pretty incredible feeling.
So now the big question… what should be next?

Dropped my first cow at the butcher… kind of.
He made a jailbreak during unloading, toured half of Buffalo through fences and streams, and is now peacefully sleeping with some horses across the road like he booked a farm stay vacation. I chased him for what felt like miles and learned two things today:
1. Small towns are full of absolute legends. They said they’ll round him up in the morning and finish the job.
2. I always thought I was a city kid pretending to be country. Today my mellow cow confirmed it

Vintage couches are the ultimate lottery ticket when it comes to seating—you never know if you’re about to sink into cloud-like comfort or land on something that feels like a park bench.

You can’t sell it if it’s not listed.
Up at 4 AM… time to hustle.

Not everything valuable shows up on a paycheck.
Some of it looks like:
– a old dog still wagging his tail
– a kid asking you to wrestle one more time
– chores done before the sun remembers to rise
– small wins stacking up, quiet and steady
The world shouts about fast money and easy roads.
But the good life?
It’s usually slow… simple… and earned one honest day at a time.

Anyone else do this?
